Is kog even good?

everytime i see a team do a juggermaw comp or just play kog in general they lose....

Yes. Kog is amazing. Juggertrist is a lot easier and safer to pull off, but isn't quite as strong.

For further explanation, don't get AD. Get some critical and attack speed and finish with some AD items or begin with some. Kog'Maw's W is a great damage cast (and its free with bonus range). If someone is close to you, use your Q and then E them so that you can AA + W to finish them off quickly without them being able to get away. Just be careful about his ultimate. It is honestly just a poke. Practice with it and learn good ways and times to use it.

He's also a great mid laner. All of his abilities can scale on AP so it makes sense he can go mid if you want to.

Korean teams pull it off pretty well. The problem is that NA teams either don't get a second carry for the mid game (while Kog scales up) or the Kog player cough Piglet cough gets caught and leaves a team without any source of damage for a fight.

Lucian is better if your team dosen't help you. But, if your team helps you get strong he is good.

Kog can get a lot of damage down. Far more than nearly any other ADC. However, Trist has more turret-killing/mobility, Kalista has the best mobility (and other utility beyond that), Sivir has great engage, and Corki has better poke. ADC Kog has the possibility of being really powerful, but only if you play him well.
