NA LCS Imports

Hey, I have a question about the imports in the NA LCS and about the rule of having 2 imports per team. If the rule is only having 2 imports per team why does team like Echo Fox, Dignitas and EnvyUS have 3 imports on the team

Is it 2 imports per year and they got someone last year?

I don't know anything about this, just a wild guess.

2 total at any time, baring what Mye said (Play in a region for certain number of seasons, or attain citizenship)

Basically if you stay in a region for more than 4 years (or have citizenship to that region) then you can play without taking an import slot. Thus teams like Nv can have ninja+seraph+lira as only ninja/lira take up the slots.

You take an important slot for 2 years and then if you stayed in that same region, the third year you doesn't qualify as an import anymore (at least from what i saw with bjerg and some others).

It's 4 years now, that's why Rush went back to Korea instead of waiting till this split to join C9's starting roster, as Rush/Impact are both are 2 years now.

Dig has Sumday and Chaser, Keane like Beig is grandfathered in. Fox has Looper and Froggen Nv has Lira and Ninja has Seraph is grandfathered in.
