The stalwart and humble Aphromoo has matured into a captain that Counter Logic Gaming listens to and rallies behind. Developing within the team, he's become one of the most commanding supports competing at the 2015 World Championship.
But he wasn't always the general of this squad.
Aphromoo started his pro career as an AD carry before swapping to support in early 2013. Relying on his prior carry experience, he adapted to his new role and quickly became a threatening presence in lane. Harassing effectively and oppressively using his skills to scare off lane opponents, Aphromoo was a unique support who did whatever necessary to get his all-star carry Doublelift, #20 on our list, ahead.
Fusing into what's now known as the fearsome "Rush Hour" bottom lane duo, Aphromoo is confident enough in his own mechanical abilities to follow up on his ADC's aggressive impulses. But he's also there to keep those tendencies in check. Aphromoo's calming demeanor has allowed Doublelift to focus on his own mechanics and team fight positioning. And together, they bully out every other bottom lane combo in NA.
We're extremely good in lane and are going to draw a lot of pressure from their jungler in lane or just smash them 2v2.
Aphromoo isn't always by Doublelift's side, though. He sets himself apart from other supports because he's often the player on Counter Logic Gaming seeking out engages, rather than passively sticking to his lane. He's earned over 1,000 assists playing in the LCS, and has become known for charging and offensively Flashing into enemies on Alistar, finding brutal Pulverizes to set his team up, or catching four guys out with a perfectly-timed Bard Tempered Fate. Aphromoo's developed his own signature aggressive style, rallying his team towards fights and using his excellent macro knowledge to find crushing initiations. But that moxie has also gotten him into trouble.
Throughout the 2015 Summer Split, Aphromoo wasn't flawless. He was inconsistent with those aggressive skills shots, but that didn't deter him from attempting to make the plays. Where he shined was through his prominent shot-calling. He knew how to lead CLG into awesome plays as well as call them off from perilous situations.
I like to interact with all my teammates and make sure they feel great and are allowed to strive and do well.
And by Playoffs, Aphromoo buckled down to become an impeccable play-maker. Gravitating towards Braum, Janna, and Alistar, he was in top-tier form. In the 2015 NA LCS Finals, Aphromoo was a crucial force in CLG's dismantling of Team SoloMid, just as much as his laners were. He kept his carries safe while finding and acting on influential engages with fantastic positioning -- not backing down from a fight even when he only had slivers of health. Those gambles often resulted in huge team fight wins for CLG, netting them kills and objectives simply because he refused to give up.
Now closer than ever to his dream of becoming a World Champion, the way is daunting, but Aphromoo isn't one to back down from a challenge.
