Why are commentator's making comments about US Politics?

I just finished watching game 1 of NIP vs G2 and was blown away when I heard the commentator's mocking the US's president. I hadn't realized that Riot had taken a stance on US politics. I didn't realize that by watching an esports game I would be forced to listen to political jokes. Are Trump supporters not welcomed by Riot?

LMAO well when your president is the lowest of the low hanging fruit for comedy, he's going to be the butt of quite a bit of it.

EULCS takes place in Germany. Germany really hates Trump. While I believe mocking Trump is wrong and unprofessional in a Esports environment, I think i know where it came from.

(Also it would have been fairly well received with a German audience, you piss off a lot of people that are watching the stream.)

EDIT: aparently from reading comments after refreshing I see that you probably misunderstood what they said, but if they were to make a mockery of Trump My prior statement would still stand

Honestly, I was expecting a lot more Trump jokes in regards to Taliyah's ult. Seems like a missed opportunity really.
