I saw dardock not finish his jg item until very late in his game against TSM. Can someone explain to me why this is advantageous because it seems to me he would be missing on a lot of extra jg xp.

If you have Hunter's Talisman or Hunter's Machete, you are getting the the same amount of bonus experience as the completed jungle item.

Or even better, cooldown boots. Because ghost ganks. Thats the reason.

The bonus experience portion of the passive doesn't stack between Talisman and Machete nor does it increase when completing Skirmisher's Sabre, Tracker's Knife or Stalker's Blade.
