Santorin Joins Team Coast as New Jungler
Following ZionSpartan and Shiphtur's departure from the squad, Team Coast has announced that they have signed a new jungler in Santorin. The European player will be replacing NintendudeX on the starting lineup, who will be remaining in the Coast organization as a substitute. Team Coast lost their spot in the LCS after dropping to compLexity Black during the promotion stage.
Team Coast Owner & General Manager, David Slan:
"After the last two Splits and this week's All-Star event, it’s clear that in order to be competitive in NA and with the rest of the world, it’s necessary for Team Coast to make significant changes. We wanted to build a team of talented individuals who are willing to learn to play the game differently, with a team-oriented play-style, and a focus on the current meta. In NA, Cloud 9 has come closest to what is required. Santorin fits the mold of the aggressive, pressure-oriented Jungler we were looking for. But he has other qualities we really like. Because he is young, he doesn’t have a lot of bad habits. He has excellent mechanics, and shows a level of maturity in his decision-making that’s unusual in a player his age. Santorin also has a deep understanding of the game. He is willing to make difficult decisions, and communicate that to his teammates. Team Coast also put a high value on good manners. He’s a very nice young man who will bring his strong work ethic to the team."
Team Coast Jungler, Santorin:
“I decided to go with Coast, because I wanted to try something new. I had played with many European teams with great success, but I felt like it was time to make a change. I chose to join the Team Coast organization because the players are all great guys - and I can’t wait to play with them. The Coast organization has a terrific attitude towards the players. They care about the players, and they want to do as much as possible to help us succeed.”
It is worth noting that in order to qualify for the Challenger Series, Team Coast must field three the members from their final game in the Summer 2014 Promotion Series.
