Why is worlds a month long?
I use to play back in 2014 and I don't remember it being like this. Looks like the whole thing is slow af. Do the teams stay in SK for the whole month?

It's been a month long since season 4. Last year's world I believe was longer then this year.
In S4-6 it was two weeks for Groups, week for QT, week for Semi, and a week for Finals.
7 introduced Play-ins and added another week.
This year actually sped it up. Playins was 8 days and then groups started 3 or 4 days later and lasted 8 days, and QTs will start 3 days after Groups and lasts 4 days.
