This or That: NA vs EU

Riot··1 votes·18,714 views

Welcome to another episode of This or That where the slides are made up and the points don’t matter!

This week it’s NA vs EU as Phreak and Kobe take on Quickshot and Pira. Yes, we do recognize the irony that the two people representing Europe aren’t even European. But in our crazy world of imports and whatnot we like to think it’s not about where you’re from -- it’s about how you represent your region.

Didn't they say that in 2014 about LMQ?

What you saying friend, I'm not understanding what you mean about it ?

I supported LMQ not a FIRST when they first joined NA LCS as I thought they just wanted an easier time to get to WORLDS(Which it is) compared to the LPL at the time with OMG-Royal-Edward Gaming but after a while I supported them, especially when they went to WORLDS to represent NA.

Most of our native country men don't support foreigners (but which country does) at first. However if the foreigners represent their new country they will gain support from the natives and all will be fine.

I don't want to dive too deep into any "racial" discussions as it can be a dangerous road so I will just say end by saying I don't mind foreigners or foreign teams that live or play in the United States but what I don't like is when they come over and BASH this Great Country.

I was cool with LMQ because they did things the "right" way. They started at the bottom. They went through the rank 5 ladder, qualified for NACS, won NACS, then won promotion and came in 3rd at the Summer Playoffs. They didn't buy a spot like EG did or anything. Plus the team we got was different from the one in LPL. If they had won their final game against OMG then all 3 of NA's teams would have made it to Quaters.

Foreigners or not I liked them. They made NA stronger by being a Chinese team they could face every week and get international experience week in and week out. Plus their series against TSM was awesome. Game 5 notwithstanding lol.

Indeed I too thought LMQ was a great team on how they played the game as they were also were a Chinese team so it was like watching the NA LCS and LPL at the same time LOL. Worlds 2014 yeah kinda sucked that they were eliminated after starting the group stage was it 2-0 but fell down the ladder due to ackerman and their jungler (can't rememer name) performing horribly similar to them during the 2014 summer second round playoffs.

"Plus their series against TSM was awesome". Dude not only was that series Great to watch as it went back and fourth not only in game by series wise 1-0 1-1 2-1 2-2 3-2 the whole TSM run during the 2014 Playoffs was F$CKING AWESOME.

3-1 DIGNITAS with 3 games out of the 4 coming down the wire and ending around the 50+ min mark. The backdoor series it should be called lol.

3-2 LMQ like I said it was great to watch those two powerhouse teams duke it out.

3-2 C9 for the 3rd straight and a year later(spring 2015) for a soon to be 4th split in a row, C9 and TSM faced off In the NA FINALS in a Rivalry that really took the CLG and TSM rivalry a backseat( until 2015/2016)

TSM was down in every series but they still had the fatigue to win the Playoffs.

Off Topic some ?

EXACTLY! LMQ made NA competitive with the rest of the world. Kinda funny how you don't rmeember LMQ's jungler's name when his name was "NoName" lol.

Not only TSM's series with LMQ but their series with C9 went the exact same way except that game 5 was so damn even it was crazy lol.

Oh man game 2 between TSM and DIG (rest in piece) was STRESSFUL! Turtle using Culling and Amazing waiting so long to back door and what not. Enough to give a man a heart attack lol.

TSM is a marathon runner. Longer the series goes the better they get.

Off topic MUCH! LOL![slayer-jinx-wink]

Noname ( Face Palm) lol I wasn't trying to be funny with that but I gotta admit that was a good one from me I give myself 10/10 on that joke if it was intentional XD.

" Not only TSM's series with LMQ but their series with C9 went the exact same way" A lot easier when you say that what I was doing saying 0-1 1-1 2-1 LOL. Just wanted to show that TSM was down at every corner.

" TSM is a marathon Runner" EXACTLY I always thought if I had to compare to another Sport, they would be the Spurs from the NBA slow at times and might get beat in game 1 but improves each and every game and no matter their record in the regular season they still reach the LCS Finals(NBA FINALS).

Thanks for a great discussion as you know your LCS and its always enjoyable to have chats with people about the LCS scene.

Have a Good One ! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

If I had to call TSM a sporting team I'd call them both the New York Yankees (most wonned in NA) and the Dallas Cowboys. No matter their standing, for better or for worst TSM is and will be NA's TEAM. Get what I mean?

Yeah man you too. It's so nice to have someone who knows their LCS history to talk to.

You have a good one too! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

LMQ didn't make NA competitive. The splits before during and after LMQ ended in a TSM vs C9 finals. Those were also the only two teams NA had that were relevant at an international level, something that didn't change with LMQ. And the only change since is C9 got replaced with CLG.

LMQ toughened TSM and C9 up. Forced them (or at least TSM) to dig deep and keep going.

Funny how you mention TSM and C9 being NA's only international-ready teams and yet they're our only 2 constants at Worlds. From Season 3-till now they go to Worlds with another team. S3 Vulcan. S4 LMQ. and S5 CLG. This year it looks like they're taking IMT with them.
