As part of our Countdown to Worlds, we celebrate the Top 20 players of the World Championship.

#8 - Rekkles

Team - Fnatic Region - Europe Position - AD Carry Signature Champions Rekkles is the original wunderkind. In November 2012, just months after the Season 2 World Championship, teams headed to Las Vegas to participate in IPL5. To many, this is still one of the greatest tournaments ever played - largely because of Rekkles. Fnatic looked nigh untouchable, with four consecutive wins against defending World Champions TPA, eliminating them from the tournament. They went on to just barely lose out to tournament winners World Elite, who was at that time at the height of their power. Though Rekkles looked like the best ADC in the world during that tournament, Fnatic would lose him for a year due to the age restriction in the LCS. It was 100% worth the wait. Now Rekkles is the reigning EU LCS MVP, and shares the single-season kills record, on one of the best teams in the world. Rekkles does it all: mechanics in lane, late-game farming and awareness, strategic play, and communication. He also has the ability to play almost any champion at a top level. Rekkles is the gold standard for Western ADCs. Check out the other players on the list! Who do you think is #7 on our list of the 20 greatest players at #Worlds? soon as ANYBODY gets placed above a KOREAN player EVERYBODY goes insane cuz it's the end of the world, why don't you people just make your own top 20 and put all the Koreans in the top 15 and just throw in some randoms at the last 5. Cuz if they're Korean they're automatically better

He deserved to be on the list but #8 and Deft #11 is ridiculous

"What concerns me is that Froggen, Rekkles and Bjergsen aren't even on the list yet. I doubt that they'd rank Yellowstar above any of the players, which strongly implies that there's going to be even more ridiculous Western hype later on (Rekkles above Imp, for instance, which seems inevitable at this point)."

Fuckin' called it.

If you are saying that Koreans aren't that much better than the other regions than please name an international game that a korean team has lost since Season 3 worlds. Mid team korean teams (the only ones to play internationally) have gone undefeated in international tournaments. I am not saying that there is no chance of a non-korean team winning, but it is improbable.

WOW, Rekkles CLEARLY deserves top 5! just because there is so much Korean hype, doesn't mean that one of the Obvious top players, should be ranked lower.

Rekkles is really strong ADC, but in that video, many of his succesful kills were set up by Yellowstar :) They are best botlane EU i think item 3078

wait wait wait... Rekkless, tied most kills in LCS, least deaths in LCS, and he is rated 8th? There are more LCS members to come I'm sure.....

Rekkles carried fnatic this year, xPeke isn´t in his best moment

TnsEagle9/15/2014, 7:17:33 AM1 votes

wait so people are saying deft should be higher because he is the best ADC of korea ??? well , best ADC korea is not best ADC of the world and that ladies and gentlemen is Rekkles or Uzi

Incoming massive outrage (OUTRAGE!) that <put any NA or EU player here> is higher than <put any Korean or Chinese player here>.

Was this post a joke or did the guy even watch IPL5? Aside from the part that what made the tournament was WE beasting everyone whether it be Caomei's Rengar or Misaya's Ori. Oh and Rekkles looking like the "best ADC", did we forget about this random guy named ... WeiXiao?! Even current EU LCS, there's debate whether Tabzz is better considering Rekkles has largely been criticized for his tendency to pussy out on fights to preserve his KDA.

My predictions for TOP 8 as I said some days ago in other comments were: Rekkles, DanDy, Froggen, Uzi (now they are shown) and NaMe1, Winds, Cool, Dade. I still go on with it-

I just couldn't hold it in me. So many Korean fanboys. Just because you watch OGN doesn't mean you know better than everybody else. Guess what you are not the only one.... First of all Fnatic is a different team compared to last year. xPeke is not carrying (I don't know if this is his problem or mid champions are not that dominant anymore), sOAZ is weaker and Cyanide can't be this super supportive jungler because of the meta. So basically yes this is not the same team from last year and this is not even the same META. So Fnatic is all about Rekkles and Yellowstar so please do not talk **** about them just because they are not Korean. And I've seen a lot of games where Deft and Imp were carried by their teams. Have you ever seen Rekkles doing bad in a game and getting carried? The answer is no. Even when his team is doing super bad he is the only hope they have. So yeah he is definitely more important to Fnatic than Deft and Imp are to Samsung. Also it is so obvious how you assume that they have better mechanics just because they are koreans and they practice more... Next time assume something based on the games you've watched.

Momus9/17/2014, 9:12:24 PM1 votes

Rekkles deserves to be where he is. His records alone should point to how important he is to the team as well as how great his mechanics are! League player logic "If the player is Korean than he must be better". The regions aren't equal that's for sure, but it doesn't mean that EU and NA can't/don't have great players.
