Fervor on tanks

I've seen a lot of pro players adopting fervor on tank champs such as shen and reksai.

Is it because fervor gives you more potential of winning extended 1v1 and it is no longer worth taking courage of whatever to get a small shield?

The problem right now is that there's no really good "masteries" for tanks. Grasp is crappy, courage got nerfed into the ground, so fervor is kinda their best option as it at least allows them to deal some damage reliably and works with the whole "stand in the middle of the enemy team" strategy.

CoC is bad now for 1v1 situations, to the point that having Grasp is undeniably better. Sure, it's still strong late game, but in an early game meta, early game masteries are best.

Now, as to why the pick Fervor, Reksai makes better use of it. She can gets 4 stacks easily, which adds free damage on a gank, whereas the extra shield from CoC would be useless, or Grasp would take a lot of time to activate, and not deal significant damage. I don't like it on Shen though, since the bonus AD doesn't help his abilities to more damage. I prefer Grasp on Shen because he builds HP fast so it deals some good damage while also sustaining him a bit.

Fervor on Shen is ...... ok like it's no total garbage if you run potentially item 3077 first or maybe 2nd once you have a tank item under your belt but you are setting up a split push style on Shen which again isn't bad but you can still do that with just Grasp in my opinion.
The lane phase with Fervor is ok on Shen but you can also just get item 3751 to help cs etc while build tanky as Shen normally does anyways so having a mastery that helps off your HP as Grasp does is just better in my opinion again.
