Take Away for TSM Summer Split

I watched every game TSM played this split and I have a few qualms about how things ended. I am in no way bashing TSM and I will always be a fan. I just wanted to voice my frustration after this finals. TSM started the split strong and looked really good until the fallout around mid split. Reginald stepping in to help coach aggravated me very much at this point for a number of reasons:

  1. Reginald is the owner of TSM and should have kept it that way.
  2. Having Reginald step in to help undermines Locco and his staff.
  3. If Reggi had a problem with how things were going he should have taken Locco aside and voiced his frustration, making it clear where he wanted the team to be. If there is a problem between coaches and management then hire new coaches.
  4. Reginald hates CLG and coming in to coach this team put even more pressure on the players to beat CLG.
  5. The trash talk is unprofessional and made TSM look foolish and disrespectful.

I believe TSM will continue to perform very well and maintain the highest level of play. I just think there are better way of going about it. I like the current roster of players and hope they work things out in time for worlds. This should have been an easy victory for TSM and a number one seed. Instead they are looking at a difficult road out of group stage. Lets hope they get a favorable draw.

Owners should never attempt to coach. It always ends bad in any sport.

I feel that TSM got way too full of themselves after winning the Invitational. That led to some severe stagnation during the summer split. Their strategy was absolutely horrid and that's why they did so poorly. They changed up for the playoffs and were much better, but by then it was too late.

I don't know what is going on internally. I'm pretty sure regi tends to have the final say. He does look like a guy who is hard to work with.

With that said, I expect Dyrus to leave TSM on his own admission or from pressure by Reginald. Wild Turtle might get kicked just because Regi bullies him.

With that said, I just think overall, TSm needs a new jungler. One that is a play maker, not a farmer.

TBH he should of just taken over as coach instead of taking over for coach but letting loco keep the spot. You can see loco is pretty clueless, I remember one of the videos regi asked him you see why this comp is bad, and loco just sat there with a dumb look on his face.

They should also stop worrying about playing what is meta and jus play to their strengths (keeping the meta matchups in mind)... you saw them hovering zed & LB for berjg... then picked yasuo. If your going to give your mid laner the counter pick every game, give him a good counter pick, don't put him on yasuo vs viktor. With the meta shifting to carry top laners, if they're going to keep giving berjg the counter pick every game, they need to give him a good counter pick he can win lane with, because you know dyrus is going to suffer from the blind pick every game. If they gave Berjg LB that game, he would of shyt all over viktor and he would of been a non-factor all game, instead they blind picked for dyrus against zion and counter picked for berjg to put him on a mid laner that'd go even... going even mid is simply bad when their carry is top lane and yours is mid.

I don't know whats going on with Santorin, he was so good, the meta shifted and they started putting him on tanks, and he just farmed all game. Now that the meta is shifting back to damage jungles, he is still farming all game, just on damage jungles instead of tank jungles, really not doing much else.

And the kogmaw pick every game.... why would you ban trist when trist & jinx are turtles 2 best adcs. Instead they waste a ban on trist and put turtle on a low mobility rough early game adc.... 3 times in a row when they could of saved the trist ban, banned the yasuo and first picked trist since they wanted to use first pick on adc anyway... and if CLG picked up trist first pick, it gives turtle his god-jinx + braum for lustbot bot lane.

Was a bad series, worst part is when their comp didn't work.... they built the exact same comp again.

Viktor really isn't as immobile as some think. He has a 30% movement speed after he gets an upgrade which what the players normal rush. Regardless, there are plenty of immobile champs that were played because they were strong like Cass. LCS isn't like a normal game, mid lane doesn't get ganked a lot, it's mainly a focus of top lane and bot lane rotation.

There really isn't a different meta anymore in different regions. Yes, there are deviations, but lets see the top picks

Top lane is mostly Mao, Gnar, Ryze, with some deviations Mid Lane is mostly Lulu, Azir, Viktor. Yes, Varus and Ahri do get played too Jungle: Elise, Reksai, Lee, Gargas, Nid ADC are pretty much played accross the board with the focus mainly being either Kalista, or Sivir

Yes, I get what you are saying about players like Coubleshard. Yes, he had it banned against him every game. That's one deviation; it's clearly his best champ and he isn't good with the current meta

  1. The trash talk is unprofessional and made TSM look foolish and disrespectful. How boring do people want LOL to be ? You just want a bunch of Canadians holding hands and just CSING so they don't hurt the enemy laner..
