No online tournaments? is League in the final stages of death spiral?

it's called ranked. Organizing a tournament, with each group having 5 people, is ungodly difficult.

The initiative to have online fan made tournaments was killed by riot in order to promote their professional leagues. The started by removing rewards f fan made tournaments, then they removed their official platform to get the members and finally they added censorship to third party website inside their forum.

So the only online fan made tournaments left are the one hosted by twitch streamers which cover the cost of the prizing themselves, and third party gambling style tournaments ($5 buy in per player rate or so) which gives players a certain fear as they could be scam (I have entered ranked/tier based tournaments where the winners were always professional teams or smurf several tiers above the rank ceiling, so the same team will end up winning).

If you are still interested on this kind of tournaments you can visit Battlefy (pretty sure now this post will get removed) where they usually host tourneys during the weekends but be advised that you will lose everytime unless you form your own team with players around diamond level as this will be the type of competence you will find.
