Challenger Series Open Qualifier Sign-ups
Hey everyone,
Sign-ups for the Challenger Series Open Qualifier will open on 12/01/15/05:00 PST and 12/01/15/ 14:00 CET. Here’s a guide on how you can sign-up for a chance to compete in the Open Qualifiers.
Last week we announced our upcoming changes to the Challenger Series qualification process and the TL;DR is we’re moving away from Ranked Teams and introducing Qualification Tournaments to determine eligible teams.
**How do I sign up? **
Well first you need to gather a team of eligible members ranked Diamond III or above in NA, EUW or EUNE. Head over to Battlegrounds on NA, EUW and EUNE and your nominated team captain can begin the signup process (note: the links for each will go live on December 1)
So aside from being in D3, who’s eligible?
Team members must be aged 17 or above with the exception of 2 members being aged 16 Anyone under the age of 18 must provide signed permission from a legal guardian – this form will be downloadable at signup These qualifiers are restricted to players that live in NA or in EUW/EUNE, but your team can have a maximum of 2 players who are non-residents You must have an active League of Legends account in the respective region that is Diamond 3 or above and is not banned
How do I actually sign up?
If you’re a team captain, head to Battlegrounds and at the top of the page you’ll find a section to create a new team. Enter a name for your team and press Create. In the new page you will find a link to share with your teammates. They’ll be able to click the link to join your team. If you don’t have a team then no problem, just create a lobby and look for other teammates through battlegrounds, or share the signup link out for people to join. Remember you only have 8 slots.
Once you have a team created and the sign ups are open, make sure to follow the regional links above to sign your team up for the Open Qualifier.
I made a mistake on my team roster!
You can register up to 9 players on your roster as team captain, but once signups are closed then you will be unable to make further changes. Double check with everyone on your team before you submit!
Ok we’re signed up. What now?
The team captain will receive information about your scheduled games. They’ll next receive a tournament code which corresponds to each custom game. That can be shared with the rest of the team or the Captain can join the lobby and invite the rest of their team to join.
Games will be 5v5 best of three on Summoner’s Rift
For any other questions, myself, J.T. “Riot Tiza” Vandenbree (NA) and Piotr “Riot Oxy” Pilich (EU) will be around. We’ll release the ruleset tomorrow alongside an FAQ.
