I think 2015 Worlds shown already, that NA doesn't deserve 3 slots. Who should get that slot?
I guess i'll get loads of ...stuff thrown at me for that, but comparing performance of all regions, its clear that NA doesn't deserve 3 slots. Not a single NA team left the group this year, with only C9 losing Qurterfinals spot on tiebreakers. Not to mention that NA teams did not get SKT/EDG groups, and had legitimate chance if they performed. In 2014, 2 NA teams went to quarterfinals. With TSM lucky enough to be in a group with crippled SK Gaming (Jungler "Im stupid enough to get banned a day before worlds" Svenskeren went with racism toxic talk to deserve short suspension and grant TSM playoff spot), and C9 getting mystery gift from Alliance that (sic!) lost to Kabum (lol). In 2013, the only NA team in playoffs were C9 on their Allstar performance (seeded into playoffs).
My first thought was, that LMS should get 3rd slot at cost of NA. Both LMS teams went into playoffs. Beside LMS, only Korea managed to put all their teams into playoffs. FW got to playoffs based on groups draw and luck, just like TSM in 2014, and wouldn't probably win any quarterfinal draw (they lost easily to what people considered second worst team in playoffs), but AHQ loss is just pure bad luck on draw - every other team would lose to SKT there as well. In 2014 AHQ lost playoff spot on tiebreaker (lets forget the TPA performance). In 2013 Bears went into playoffs.
On second hand, why not give 4th spot to Korea? In last 2 Worlds 3/3 Korean teams went to playoffs. 4th Korean team is probably better than any NA team and any EU team (maybe except Fnatic), and certainly way better than 3rd LMS team. This would also be fair to Korean teams and league, as the current split and Korea deep talent pool promotes player migration to other regions. The only drawback is that Worlds would become OGN with guest teams.
So what do you think? Should NA lose the 3rd slot? If so - who should get it?
