Same Team, Different Owners?

There's been a lot of outrage at the fact that IMT is no longer going to be a part of the LCS. Per the terms of a team leaving the NALCS, they will be paid out and all contracts must either be bought out or sold to another organization. We now have 2 orgs that haven't even officially been created: The Golden State Owner's Lacob Family Team and now the Cleveland Cavs Team.

Could either of these organizations attempt to build off the brands of teams that have been declined entry by picking up the rosters of IMT or DIG? Do you think this would be a feasible strategy to take when trying to enter the LOL Esports scene?

Personally, I find this to be an interesting proposition. So many people link an organization with the branding that is intrinsically tied to the success of the players. Yes, it would be a different team, a different jersey, but the same players and - potentially - support staff. A great example of this is FlyQuest, being a team recognized by most of their players' time with C9, successfully gaining a lot of support because of it.

Regardless, I think our primary concern and hope should remain with the players affected by the changes the NALCS is currently undergoing while making this transition to a franchised league.

Cheers.
