The first ever Challenger Series Playoffs is almost upon us, with the six top-performing Challengers duking it out for a spot in their region’s Summer Promotion Tournament. For the rest of the LCS hopefuls, it's back to the Ranked Teams ladder. When the deadline comes, the top 20 teams in Challenger Tier on the Ranked 5s ladder will make their way into their region’s Summer Challenger Series. To help you get ahead of the curve, here's a look at when ladder qualifications close for the Summer Challenger Series:
Summer Challenger Series 1
EU ladder deadline:
Sunday, May 4 @ 21:00 CEST
EU CS 1 starts Thursday, May 15
NA ladder deadline:
Tuesday, May 6 @ 12:00PM PDT
NA CS 1 starts Saturday, May 17
Summer Challenger Series 2
EU ladder deadline:
Wednesday, June 25 @ 21:00 CEST
NA ladder deadline:
Friday, June 27 @ 12:00pm PDT
The top 20 teams in NA and the top 10 teams in EUW and EUNE at the exact time of the deadline will qualify for the next Challenger Series! Within 12 hours of the deadline, all players on qualifying ranked teams will receive an email at the address associated with their League of Legends accounts - be sure to check your email as we'll need a response within 48 hours to confirm your place in the tournament!
For all of you teams already making the climb to Challenger, remember that you’ll need to be LCS ready (
you can read up on the LCS ruleset here) to qualify for the Challenger Tournament – including having three members that are (or will be) eligible to play in the LCS, and are all in the same region in which the series is taking place (we’ll be checking!).
