Steefness3 votesSo I got bored and worked this out, the crazy situation that is a long shot but would end us with some interesting tie breaker situations if it works out this way. If IMT beats both CLG and DIG they will end 9-9. If FLY beats FOX and TL they will end 9-9. If DIG beats C9 and loses to IMT they will be 9-9. If CLG loses to IMT and NV they will end 9-9. I know this is a long shot, though NV has shown improvement and C9 are showing some problems, and I could believe the rest of the outcomes as very possible. This would end up with 4 teams vying for the last 3 playoff spots with 9-9 records. When you look at the head to heads, all but one of the matchups (IMT is 2-0 vs DIG) are split at 1-1. Stay tuned Sunday, we might be in for a lot of bonus LoL!
III BAKURYU III 1 votesThe records are more than the original 9-9 records I thought. Even if a team is 9-9 you also have to look at the total games won/lost as well before any tie-breakers would happen.
Let's say Fly does indeed beat FOX the total games either 2-0 or 2-1 also decides into the tie-breakers if both finishes 9-9 as well as the head to head from previous weeks to be a factor.
I'm not 100% certain tho so I could be wrong, if I am wrong and you are indeed right then I will applaud you in your post!

III BAKURYU III 1 votesI loved the best of 3 series, however I thought the BO3 was just going to be like this TSM beat C9 2-1 instead of TSM record being(1-0)//2-1 and C9's (0-1)//1-2 it was just TSM 1-0 C9 0-1 it's easier instead of taking 30 mins figuring out which is more impressive a team that is 0-18 but took the top 4 teams to 3 games in losing efforts twice or a team that is 14-4 but are in constant best of 3's with like every team, even the bottom feeders ?
The tie-Breaker games was something that I loved back in 2013-2015. I loved getting home and watching the usual 4-5 games(2013-14) but really the 5 games of LCS(2015) and end of the year on the last week watch 5 games + 1 or 2 from EU but for NA it was like 3-4 tie-breakers for each split back in 2015, it was awesome!
However I think that's why Riot did the standings not just X-X but also X-X(X-X) to eliminate tie-breakers.

They don't look nearly as confident, their pick and bans are mediocre, their team strats are starting to fall apart, and individual play seems to be lacking. I mean, Jensen, where's the god-level plays? Letting enemy mid-laners and junglers treat you like a silver.
SciFi Scrivener1 votesI'm still rooting for C9 to win the split, but the last 4 weeks have left me feeling less than optimistic. I put a lot of blame on their picks. It almost feels like they are trying to not play their best champions in order to hide what they can do from their playoff opponents. Friday night is going to be interesting. If they lose to DIG there is a chance they will lose their first round bye, and face TSM in round two... if they even win the first round. Who would have thought this would be the situation after the great start they had.

III BAKURYU III 1 votesWhen C9 lost to TSM and gave Cloud 9 their first L of the season I thought they were going to become even better than before, because they lost which it's better to lose some where in the middle of the season than it is to have all of that pressure of going 18-0 and possibly losing in the playoffs going down 0-1 and forgetting what its like to lose and having to go down deep to get the drive to win, as well as losing to the best team in NA for some time now as well as last year TSM no shame in losing a game to an equal team.
Cloud 9 didn't improve, the once pick bans that their coach gave to the team didn't make much sense or it wasn't executed by the players so either coach Reapered is at fault for having bad pick ban, the players either don't know how to execute down the stretch or it's the easy road and C9 just hit a speed bump; either way they need to fix it because TSM and P1 is looking to be the Finals instead of C9 being in the picture.
TSM are winning but it's ugly, nasty wins! Svenskeren keeps dying early and often and it's starting to remind me of how Worlds went, we all remember Worlds 2016 Sven don't we ? This team either gets an advantage early or they don't win because they don't seem to have the ability to come back in games, and it's been like that for about 3 years now with them.

III BAKURYU III 1 votes"preforming" is a hit and miss word for Svenskeren but he was a big part on why TSM actually did get any kills/leads however game 6/game 2 vs RNG Sven was a huge reason on why TSM lost.
Ravens69691 votesThis is absolutely pathetic. I would love to work for Riot. To write for riot. I would do it for free. But i would write detailed articles. That actually talked about the teams we love. Not......3 sentences about week 10. Where are the articles that detail the matches from the past week? I may not be some incredible writer. But I would at least write an amusing article that lets the fans read what happened. Or....for this post. How about some actual thoughts on week 9. Look at the CLG post to really see how to post absolutely nothing but what a few announcers have said a few times xDDD

Eleshakai3 votesI look forward to these '10 thoughts' posts every week. Sure I'd like them to ALSO have longer analysis of each team on the NA blog too... but these posts are awesome. I especially liked when he used the same line for TSM as he did for C9 the week before and we all had to wonder whether he was making a statement or had just screwed up and put the wrong line in! (in the end, it was just a screwup... but the mystery!)

Zyrcadia1 votesjust throwing this out there but...i think P1 looks like the best team heading into week 9 and possibly playoffs. Like TSM is on top but i feel like going to three games with P1, IMT, and NV shows that that team isn't completely sound at all. C9 looked good at the beginning, but are now stumbling into the playoffs all becuz they clinched their ticket already. P1 will not only be fighting in week 9, but i don't think they'll be stopping even when playoffs start. Week 9 will give everyone a sense of where P1 really stands amongst these teams since they face both TSM and C9, and my gut says they will take them both down. X)
Shockforce1 votesP1 is definitely looking strong, they have no strictly weak lanes which lets Meteos/Inori run rampant. Of the two junglers, Meteos is usually the better pick because his impact is more consistent but I would gamble on Inori against stronger teams because he has a higher ceiling. I think their only gaping flaw is that they use Ryu's over-aggressive tendencies to pull pressure mid: it looks incredible when it works but it can also backfire quite amazingly if he has a bad game or the opposing mid-laner is better.
TSM's only gaping weakness is their lack of firepower in bottom lane: it is beyond mediocre. Everything North of bottom lane is outright amazing. Haunzer has been running people over top lane to the point that he is almost as valuable as Bjergsen. Sven, while not the best duelist, is probably the best "support jungle" at setting up his lanes to succeed. I think the way you win over TSM is to try and keep TSM solo laners in lane while you pick on Sven.
C9 on the other hand has several gaping issues. C9 relies on top lane to pull pressure early game, which is nullified if the enemy top just holds out and the rest of his team focuses elsewhere. Jensen has low synergy with his jungler (and has never worked well with any jungler not named Hai) so he more often playing 1v2 rather than 2v2. And Sneaky has been having some weird flaws in his gameplay (both in and out of lane) that makes it a game of Russian Roulette to play around him as a carry.

Zyrcadia1 votesWell...i can't say much about that...I didn't actually expect them to play so badly....like credit to C9 for actually looking good this final week but I do have to point that P1 played really bad in some many instances of both games. These mistakes were also very uncharacteristic of them as well. Not gonna explain but i hated the Taric pick in the first game by Stunt, I also hated Ryu never getting QSS as talon (like wtf, smoothie was waiting to use his malz ult every time he saw Ryu so why not get the fuckin qss?) And I hated that they didn't ban the malz knowing that smoothie was playing well on it before hand, also Zig not playing Kled when it is like his pick (he is undefeated on the champ). Like everything felt forced by them, im not sure why tho...but anywho i wasn't expecting so many bad decisions from them. getting 2-0'd was what they deserved for those shit games tbh. >.>

Arkanyst1 votesI'm not understanding how TSM has clinched the #1 seed. If you look at the tie-breaking scenario of match record then H2H then game record of H2H then overall game record, TSM has not clinched the #1 seed.
Match Record (TSM sits at 14-2), (C9 at 12-4)
TSM loses remaining 2 games and C9 wins remaining 2 games. Places both match records at 14-4.
Then we move to H2H which has them at 1-1. However, then it moves to game record from the H2H. C9 2-0, 1-2 giving them a 3-2 H2H game record. TSM 0-2, 2-1 giving them a 2-3 H2H game record.
Under these rules if C9 wins out and TSM loses their next 2 then C9 would claim the #1 seed.
This is why when C9 and TSM sat at equal records in the standings C9 was still the #1 team.
Arkanyst1 votesJust to add more verification that TSM hasn't secured the #1 seed, even if game record would take presidence over H2H game record, TSM sits at 28-12 while C9 sits at 27-13.
This holds the previous statement even truer as C9 winning out and TSM losing out would give C9 the #1 seed under more than 1 tie-breaking scenario. Regardless if both matches were 2-1 and 1-2 respectively.
