Earlier this year, Riot reduced the amount of RP provided to players for competing in community tournaments. The change halved the prize earnings for competitors who placed between 1st to 4th. That is a HUGE change!! I.E **Before: ** (amounts for each player) 1st: 3200 rp ----Ryze skin 2nd: 2400 rp 3rd: 1600 rp 4th: 800 rp

Current Prizing 1st: 1600 rp +_ 4 win ip boost_ ----Ryze skin 2nd: 1200 rp +_ 4 win ip boost_ 3rd: 800 rp +_ 4 win ip boost_ 4th: 400 rp +_ 4 win ip boost_ 4th-8th: _ 4 win ip boost_

Generally, competing in these tournaments would consist of, checking in onto TeamSpeak client @ 6:30pm est, waiting until about 7:30pm for teams to be made, and then actually versing the enemy teams. If your team came in first place, the finals would generally end at about 11:30 - 12pm Eastern Time. That is over 5 hours of time spent competing verses other player. **say you convert 5 hours being payed minimum wage, they would get around $60. With $60 you can purchase over 7000 RP. 3200 RP is less than half of 7000 RP so it's more than fair for first prize winnings. **

Players who do well in these tournaments will generally continue to purchase RP using their own wallet as it removes that 5 hours of work necessary to winning 3200 RP (if they even win of course). To lose the first game in a tournament, it generally takes 2 hours including the time it takes to make the teams.

I personally believe that Riot should remove the IP boosts and instead only decrease the previous earnings by about 25-30%. 1st place winners would receive 2400 RP and so on. Also, to prevent people receiving easy 1st-4th prize winnings, make it so that tournaments need a minimum of 16 teams. That would mean it takes at least 2 games to make it to the quarter finals (where you can win 1st-4th prizes).
