2017 NA LCS Promotion Tournament

Matt isn't a bad player, hell I even rated him best support in NA last split, I think he just had a bad split bc of a bad team environment. Deftly isn't bad he is decent, and remember he is a solo q rookie.

Yeah, from this entire post I'm just seeing a bunch of excuses (which are always made when players perform badly, and rarely when they're doing well nowadays). I'll break this down into two parts to make it easier to answer:

Matt was the best support in NA last split, isn't a bad player- As someone who vigorously watched LCS/LCK last split, even you know that is hardly the case. If we're looking at stats (something I rarely do, as bakuryu knows that those aren't the solution to everything), then you could "technically" consider Adrian/smoothie/bio better than him. If we're looking at it as a whole, then much of what happened all of last year is happening now only without the "I'm stuck with a revolving door of adc talent and/or dardoch's attitude problem on the team", showing his true skillset. The fact he has the most deaths in the LCS while paired with what have realistically been 2 of the 3 best ADC's in all of NA in the past 3 years (I'd include sneaky in my top-3 list only because he's kinda been "quietly good") is massively disturbing, and honestly makes me think we could see him just play out the next few games before being entirely replaced by either Adrian or some potential "Free agents" (would really love to see a DL/painless botlane if only to see them both get 100 kills in a split).

Deftly isn't bad, just a rookie- Again, look at the comparison. Going into this promotion tournament, he's going to be against some rather steep competition. DL I really don't need to touch on as he'll probably pull out/do some fun stuff there, Apollo is (much like sneaky) quietly average and not as terrible as people make him out to be, and Mash/Madlife although the weakest of the other ones still have a ton of series experience which will come in handy for this. Deftly's a rookie going into what is essentially a "tournament" of sorts. If we compare it to Cody Sun at IEM "John G", then I can definitively say to not expect much out of him.

I hope not... I just want us to have one split without a troll organization. We finally lost curse, but then Liquid took their place. Now we just need to rid ourselves of them and we'll be golden.

Edit: Although, if that happens, I'll only have Froggen to dislike in the NALCS... and if I don't have more than one person to dislike... how will I ever find anyone to root for in games?

Curse was better than Liquid and DIG, at least they finished 4th constantly and came the closest out of all 3 orgs to actually going to worlds. DIG is just a joker org, always 5th or lower (at least since I've been watching, heard they were good in like S2). Once they got relegated they couldn't even make it back on their own, they had to get Apex's spot in some deal or something. At least Liquid had once good year, and might actually make it out of relegations on their own (Not saying they're a great org, but at least they're better than DIG).
