E-sports and Politics 2020

TheTrueNoob··5 votes·5,784 views

I have been playing League since season 1 and been watching LCS since it started. Youtube is one site I mostly watch the matches. One issue is spammers, especially the users making comments about politics. I see that next year is an election year, and I believe that politics should NOT be advertized in any E-Sports social media platform or stream (Youtube). Is there a way to control or limit the amount of "2020 Vote for ....."from comments made on your channel?

I mean.....all stream chat is just fast flowing sewage and if you take politics out it's still just sewage. It goes by to fast to read, it's 99% emotes, and the few words are just dead low quality memes. Who cares let people spam politics if it gets their rocks off it's no worse than any of the other spam.

If 1000 user say the same thing, then that's fine. That means the community agrees with a meme or chat. But if one user says something 1000 times (specifically about politics), wouldn't you block them?

Me no because I don't look a chat. Assuming I did would I personally mute them? Maybe but probably not. Do I think it should be banned behavior on the platform? no unless it's REALLY disruptive.

The only time I agree it shouldn't be done is when you're in a stream with only a hand full of people and it's a real chat not just spam. The only reason I agree is because politics can railroad a conversation instantly.

Are you trying to have some sort of conversation or watch the games? Yes it's nice to have a chit-chat or look at the chat for some sort of interesting and aspiring sayings and such but c'mon.
