I really enjoy watching high rank SoloQ games (Proposal)
Whenever I view a montage of any sort on the front page of r/lol I always seem to enjoy more the clips taken from soloQ versus the rare ones taken from competitive matches. To me personally and probably for all of us whether it'd be casual players or ladder grinders, SoloQ highlights are where the plays are made fearlessly and we get to see the resemblance from our own games and enjoy it even more.
With that being said I propose something like this: At the every LCS week there would be an extra game featuring 10 named players chosen a week prior to play a simple SoloQ match. The 10 players can be a mix of ladder stars and ex, current, or aspiring pro players. The participants will be named and will be split randomly in 2 teams. They will not know the identities of their teammates and will use no voice-com communication (like a Soloq game) but the team identities will be known to the casters and viewers. In addition we get to see the chat whether it'd be asking for ganks or baron calls, and that the players are restricted from revealing their identities.
Just the thought of SoloQ superstars duking it out with commentary from our LCS casters is making me excited. I'm sure that in every list of 10 fans will be happy to see their favorite players go up unknowingly versus the field. The players can play in the comfort of their own homes too and we might get to see how the competitors do on their secondary or even tertiary roles. If this becomes successful enough we can even bring in a soloQ legend from another region to participate in this little brawl and the hype will be unreal.
It's a dream, but it's one that I believe has the potential to excite and create even more exposure to the scene and the game. I really hope riot reads this and put something like this into consideration. Thanks for reading.
