Why does LPL have so many ties?

And sadly, those formats don't work in NA (USA). NBA/NHL/MLB all ahve best of 7's. Yet March Madness (NCAA basketball), NCAA football and NFL all are best of one and end up with massively higher ratings. (Yes I know football is king in America. But part of that is not having to waste a week + to see who wins and moves on)

You know how in LCS we have single matches? They do best of twos between the teams. So the teams play two games, if one team wins both games, they get a win and the other a loss. If they each win one, they tie.

This makes things less random. Cloud 9/TSM/CLG will destroy the lower level teams two games in a row easy, but the middle of the pack teams will have less swingy results. You have to PROVE you are better than the other team, not just get a lucky throw at Baron.

Interesting info... nonetheless the real reason they do that in China might be government regulations regarding competive play. Always "magical rules" that exist that most don't know about.

I fail to understand the need for 2 game series in either case alas... "lucky plays" are just part of the game. If you watch the Asia action they are indeed far more aggressive in teamfights or otherwise because they know they can get away with losing a match whereas in NA/EU they are much more cautious and calculating.

This may lead to more "action" on Asian teams... but not necessarily "smart action" and their performance at Worlds may be overestimated as a result.
