Where the Fuck is Monte ??! Good Game .. well played Riot ! .. gosh

Spuky9/16/2016, 2:00:53 PM27 votes

No Monte/Doa duo, come on Rito you are taking away from your own game.

DeathlySushi9/16/2016, 1:25:42 PM17 votes

Great. No Monte and Doa AND have to deal with Froskurinns ignorant ramblings during Worlds. Definitely going to have to utilize the mute button this year.

MISSLE9/16/2016, 2:20:19 PM13 votes

THIS WHOLE TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS RIVINGTON BUSINESS THE 3RD. WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE

TheSequelsRBad9/16/2016, 1:26:20 PM11 votes

My reaction to this is pretty mixed.

On one hand, "OMG LASTSHADOW! THAT IS AWESOME."

On the other hand, " :( But, but rito, why no Monte and DoA? I is sad now!"

Caideryn9/16/2016, 2:54:40 PM11 votes

I just want to say, for what it's worth, I have never been able to cope with Monte's (apparent) arrogance. Maybe it's an affectation, maybe it's a cultural difference between northern and southern hemisphere, but it's always been really difficult to deal with his "my region and opinion is the only region and opinion that matters and every other region and opinion is sub-standard." I know that's probably not what he's like in person, but it's difficult to separate that from the persona we get in such a limited window at Worlds.

Also, not for nothing, but swap up the roles between Dash and Sjokz for once!

WHERE IS MONTE?????

hunky beast9/16/2016, 8:48:03 PM7 votes

I'm not seeing Doublelift on the analyst desk. Is that a mistake?

EJM9/17/2016, 12:00:37 PM7 votes

Monte and DoA my two favourite casters... Least I'll enjoy Overwatch even more now.

TheMortalGods9/19/2016, 5:28:32 AM5 votes

no MONTE!! alright riot keep killing your game, claps, you're doing a great job. lots of people leaving, poor patch releases and now no best korean casters. Worlds 2015 was exciting cuz of monte now this wont even be close unless NA or another region that is not Korea wins worlds. GG riot so bad. Good please send another new moba to replace as good as league but without trash developers like riot (aka the new Nexon America)

Who else is glad to see lastshadow as analyst this year? I wish he would coach NA again

LuxannaVeritas9/18/2016, 5:46:36 PM5 votes

I'm so happy we have Froskurinn this year! Her commentary is so intelligent and accurate, and it seems she has a larger view of the game compared to other commentators. I hope we see a lot of her!

Hippofisk9/18/2016, 3:21:20 PM5 votes

I'd still like to see Monte and Doa

SteveTheTrooper9/16/2016, 7:17:33 PM5 votes

Personally, I'm happy with this showing. Yeah, Monte and Doa aren't here, which sucks, but I'm happy they got PapaSmithy. I like his work a lot and I feel like he's pretty underrated. I'm also glad to see the LPL English casters on this list. I'm looking forward to seeing Frosk work with Pira again. It should be pretty hype.

Jgrhymes9/19/2016, 4:52:44 PM4 votes

There is going to be an absolutely massive void without Doa and Monte. Huge disappointment for a lot of people. I hadn't even considered their absence a possibility given the quality of the broadcast team can only be worse without them. Very strange call, if it was Riot's call. Also, for those of you who have a tough time with Monte's delivery (I disagree, but get where you're coming from), have fun with LS. I personally like him, but if you thought Monte's style was arrogant...

Did anyone else notice the perfectly placed spec on Phreak's name? It looks like it says Qavid Turley instead

Dorylusmolestus9/16/2016, 5:00:32 PM4 votes

Casters lack diversity. How many white men do you need?

D4rkPhil9/19/2016, 7:24:24 AM4 votes

How the fuck are we gonna have a Worlds without KR Monte

RobotEthanMars9/16/2016, 1:10:36 PM4 votes

Wish we could count on even half of them to know what an "LPL" is, but that's still more than any previous year, so that's something, I guess. Sad that Monte and DoA aren't there, but glad that they have something else to do instead. And for better pay, apparently.

Fatehill9/16/2016, 6:19:30 PM3 votes

Ay, Krepo! Glad he'll be casting, I enjoy his perspective on games. Honestly wouldn't mind if he moved to NA....

Lil Gr33n Ghouls9/16/2016, 6:04:50 PM3 votes

At least we got Papa Smithy....

Dark Whitewalker9/18/2016, 6:18:25 PM3 votes

It seems I will have to mute Pyra and Pulse. summoner 21 But glad to see Krepo, Zirene and Jatt.

darkarcon13979/16/2016, 4:56:29 PM3 votes

I hope they use Papa a lot so we know more about the Korean scene. Also would have liked to see Monte. I mean love me some Phreak, but some of the west guys don't bring as much knowledge as Monte.

Yordle Xayah9/19/2016, 4:24:59 PM3 votes

I mean... there's Quickshot, there's Jatt, there's Deficio. My favorites are there. Glad Papasmithy will be there to represent OGN. You NEED casters from that region for insight on Korean teams. It was sorely missed during MSI.

BioBoosterArmor9/17/2016, 12:11:19 AM3 votes

All of my favorite play by play commentators are analysts... ;(

Cramar9/18/2016, 10:02:43 AM3 votes

It genuinely disappoints me to no end that Riot is unwilling to pay casters that are as popular as MonteCristo and Doa the money that they are worth. Monte and Doa were not only crowd favorites, with memorable moments and unforgettable talent, but they were what helped to make worlds feel like worlds. Don't worry Monte, if my TSM get's knocked out, I'll be all aboard the Korean hype train for you!
