Riot should allow LCS/LEC to use emotes like LPL and here is why

Hi everyone, I am a LPL fan but also watch LCS and LEC. Surprisingly, it is not until recently that I realized emotes seem to be banned in LCS and LEC. But before I say anything about this topic, I want to first show you some clips about how LPL players use emotes to interact with teammates, opponents, and audience.

IG.Ning accidentally uses stop watch in front of enemy's inhib and IG.Jacklove gives him a thumbs up https://gfycat.com/EmbellishedVariableElephantbeetle

RW Ryze places R under Kalista while she is in Gardian Angle and saves her. Here Ryze gives himself a teemo thumbs up... https://gfycat.com/EveryZigzagDore

a 1vs1 between LGD.Kramer Vayne and We.beishang Olaf. Olaf gives a dab penguin and Vayne gives a thumbs up in return. https://gfycat.com/SecondhandSeparateAfricanwildcat

some regular ones... https://gfycat.com/upload/results https://gfycat.com/neatrequiredbelugawhale

So, my pros for using emotes in pro games:

  1. Allow more interactions in-game and between player, audience and casters.
  2. Allow players to show up their personalities.

However, there are disadvantages as well. Some people might say,

  1. It is not professionalism

  2. It would be abused for BM

For 1, if dancing and taunting are allowed in the game, emotes wouldn't hurt more than that.

For 2, I would say even NBA players trash-talk a lot in game... Banning emotes for this is an underestimate of pro players' ability and they know how to respect their opponents.

Overall, I am not saying there is no harm for allowing emotes in LCS/LEC, it is just the advantages are greater than the disadvantages.

I agree! Emotes were honestly a great addition to the game and I love using them.

I second this! LPL since its franchising has made ways to make the viewer experience more wholesome (except for drawn out pauses but multiple venues and stuff; I'll fault it lightly). I highly doubt it would be excessive either. It's worth a try!

We won't get that cuz then some loser is gonna cry about how someone used it in slightly BM manner (blitz? for example) and inevitably (s)he'll get a whole hoard of goons to support their "cause" noone cares enough about to make a counter argument.
