2016 All-Star Event Heads to Barcelona

Hold onto your snowballs, because there will be mayhem. Celebrate 2016 with your favorite pros, champions and game modes when the 2016 League Of Legends All-Star Event comes to Barcelona, Spain.

Get ready to expect the unexpected as we close out the season with a bang at the Palau Sant Jordi on December 8-11.

Just like our 2015 All-Star Event, fans will vote in five players to represent their regions for NA LCS, EU LCS, LCK, LPL, LMS and the IWCA winners. These teams will be assigned to Team Fire or Team Ice based on each region’s performance at the upcoming 2016 World Championships and the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational. Alongside regional match-ups, the 1v1 tournament, and new All-Star game modes.

Will we see another 1v1 with Froggen and Faker on Anivia? Or will it be the return of KaShuni on Tandem mode? Global voting will open after the World Championship is over, so make sure to cast your votes.

We’ll be sharing more information about tickets and voting throughout the summer, so stay tuned.

Please, Please release the all star icon this year without the year on it the original all-star icon is still one of my favourites because it looks so sleek without the year on it I don't know maybe it's just me but I've thought about grabbing team icons before as well but never have because I find the year takes away from the image that old dire wolf team icon was amazing

I agree so much with this. Like I like C9 but the fact that the year is in the icon makes me feel like at the end of the year the icon will have no point since it's from last year; so having a all-star icon/team icons with no year would be a great idea. I don't care if the prices rises a bit, I just wanna buy it without the year.

yeah but thats partly a pure marketing ploy, they want you to feel like last years is worthless so you buy this years. hell i know its a ploy and its worked on me before.

Visually speaking, there shouldn't be any small copy in an icon. Gamers should know by heart how unique each yearly logo would be (if the designers get it right).

I would like to see the players for the fire and ice teams all be from different teams. It gets old seeing 3 SKT or TSM players with two other people just because they have more fan vote. Just put a cap on 1 per team. I mean how cool would it be to see something like Hauntzer, Reignover, Jensen, Keith, Aphromoo!

well, mostly in bot lane at least, a lot of people only do as well as they do because theyre with teammates they trust....

The cap is set to 2. The only reason there was 3 "TSM" players last year, is because DoubleLift was voted in as part of CLG, but switched teams between the end of voting, and the actual All-Star event. There's no way you can put a cap of only 1 player per team, you'd be severely diluting the talent pool by that point (i.e. Keith would be considered VERY weak by international standards).

Edit: TSM also temporarily picked up KaSing for IEM San Jose, and hadn't officially parted ways with him by the time the All-Star event came around. So technically TSM had 4 players on their roster at All-Star weekend: Bjergsen and Dyrus (retired) as members of TSM, plus DoubleLift (voted as CLG), and KaSing (voted as h2k, and played for the EU side)

I just visited Barcelona and just wanted to comment on the graphics/wallpapers for this article. Whoever made the art for this is on point with the Gaudi-like style. Looks like the city-view from Parc Guell. Pretty awesome!
