Will Korea be ready for Worlds?? Discuss

For those of you who do not follow KR Esports, a majority of the top tier Korean players left KR for Chinese teams as well as a few joining NA teams.

The level of competition is very low in KR right now. With the best players gone, Korea is struggling to implement 2nd and 3rd tier players into their main rosters. Even GE Tigers is full of players that did not receive any spotlight while the big boys were still in Korea. Many of them were subs and players who did not have a firmly established positions.

With that said, just because GE Tigers are extremely dominant in KR doesn't necessarily equate to them being the best in the world, anymore. My statement has been tested and proven to be true during the weekend at IEM.

Moving onto the debate topic: Will Korea make the best use of whatever resources they have left to get back on the level of competition they were once so feared for? Do they have enough time to prepare for the upcoming Worlds or will they place their hopes on the next year's?

I feel like the humiliating defeat at the IEM will work out beneficially for the Koreans in a long term. They lost their golden age roster and the coaches but to me, what's more important is not the people but the system that creates those people. As long as Korea still has that system in tact, they will be able to create the next Worlds champions. It is only a matter of time. Now that they have tasted the salty medicine, it is time for all the health and nutritional benefits to kick in.

Korea will be fine, CJ Entus has been on a low for the past two years so I'm not expecting much of anything from them and this was GET's first ever international tournament. They got created back in November and have taken the Korean LCS by storm, but Korea is rarely good at the start. Remember last year how dominant Samsung was? SKT 1 went UNDEFETED during Champions Winter last year (this season it was just a "preseason") and they didn't even make it to worlds. The Samsung's didn't take off until the end of Champion's Spring, and Champion's Summer is when they went BEAST MODE with perfect timing to dominate worlds.

Last year KT Bullets went undefeted in IEM and KT Bullets didn't even make it to Champions Summer's play offs. And In IEM 2013, Both CJ teams went to the finals and none of them went to worlds. Oh yeah, and CJ Blaze knocked off SKT T1 in the seminfinals of IEM 2013.. yep.. that same SKT T1 that won worlds.

Don't put too much stock on IEM.
