Can someone please please please explain, when I watched a VOD for that mission, it didn't recognize it! and I'm logged in and all.. I tried refreshing.. Do you really have to watch every single second of it? how does it work?
For my case, when I watched them live, I was also logged into the client. I heard the mission update ping about 10 minutes after the live scoreboard on the watch site loaded each game. My experience is different though. But without a doubt, no you don't have to watch every minute.
Best example I could use: after an ad break on the live cast, the scoreboard prepped for the next game of SPY vs SKT. Halfway thru champ select - after the pregame analyst desk and stuff - the mission just pinged and it was done. It can be that instantaneous at times.
Just leave a vod on while you are doing nothing at the pc. It will work. For me only time it doesn't work is when I "open link in new tab" and never go to that tab.
