The recent announcement of the acquisition of Altec (and the replacement of veteran AD Carry Yellowpete) certainly throws Week 1 into a bit of tumult, but smart owners will adjust accordingly for the rest of the season. Please note that Altec is
not available for selection in Week 1, but will be eligible to be inserted in Week 2 lineups starting May 23 (12:00 PM PDT / 21:00 CEST). So the question facing owners is how does the new EG member affect fantasy leagues going forward?
Altec
Altec has been a highlight of the North American Challenger scene for over a year now, but was restricted from playing in the LCS due to his youth. The most recent live games that featured Altec were during the North American Challenger Series and LoneStar Clash 3. Altec was impressive thanks to being consistently near the top in CS, and posting solid KDAs throughout both tournaments.

Projections had former AD Carry yellowpete near the bottom of the barrel. Altec is a mechanical upgrade over yellowpete, but how quickly he can gel with support Krepo will determine how viable Altec is going forward. If Altec is available, he is certainly worthy of a bench spot. If a team owner is lucky enough to get him, he is a decent candidate for a matchup-based flex or AD carry position, particularly if that owner didn't draft either of those positions until later in the draft.
Free Agency Review
For those of you who have already drafted and may be new to Fantasy leagues, Altec and any other newly signed players will be available via Free Agency. New players will be added and available in Free Agency at two points each week: Monday and Friday at 12:00 PM PDT / 21:00 CEST during Super Weeks and Tuesday and Friday at 12:00 PM PDT / 21:00 CEST during regular weeks.
From your league’s homepage, click on “Add/Drop”, and select any player to bring them onto your roster, but remember that you’ll need to cut a player at the same time. It’s first come, first served with free agency, so if you see Altec (or any other player) performing well in Week 1, it may be worth checking out the Free Agency to see if they can be picked up to your opponent’s dismay!
