Crowds and LCS

So, just finished watching the FlyQuest Echo Fox game. The crowd was literally yelling Moon every time he was attempting to gank or flank. How much can the players hear of the crowd? I have seen things saying they can and they cant? Why don't we have soundproof booths for the LCS?

Will seperate this into two parts:

Korea/China actually have the "soundproof booths" for players, but not because of what you think. Apparently in the early stages of those leagues, some teams would actively try to cheat via special "codewords" (like if someone in the crowd yelled "banana", it could mean that the enemy team is doing baron). The booths were brought in as a countermeasure, and has since served the region quite well.

As for how well the players can hear the crowd, it really depends. I have heard from a few retired players that apparently with the headsets/in game sounds, hearing the audience during LCS/"regional" games can be relatively hard. During pauses or breaks though, the audience can apparently be heard so well that the players can hear what people are saying in the 4-5th row.

Was actually wondering this same thing. Korea has the booths and I always wondered why until today. When the Ashe randomly fired a volley behind her as Moon was closing in I knew something was up. I'm sure their headphones cancel out some if not most of the sound, but it can't be 100%.

Who needs pink wards when you have obnoxious crowds?

Apparently not much/at all. Both teams confirmed that they didn't hear the MOOOOOOOOOOON stuff during Game 3.

Even better, make the screens show a 2-min difference, that way if the crowd tries to say anything, it's too late.

Even though the headphones cancel out a lot of the noise, I think there is a advantage if someone elects to only have their headset half way on one ear. THis way they can hear the crowd and have a warning that there is a flank danger.

Well I saw that multiple pros have stated they can hear the crowds, so this makes me pretty pissed. I'm a c9 / flyquest fanboy.

Not really upset too much because its spring, but seriously how do we not have soundproof booths yet? Rito pls.

Also glad to see my boy swain in game 2.
