This week on Team Fight Breakdown we're breaking down C9 Sneaky's pentakill against Team Envy from the 2016 NA LCS Summer Split.

Target selection is one of the most overlooked -- yet important -- parts of team fighting. Especially for marksmen, selecting the correct target can be one of their most crucial skills.

In Game 2 of Cloud9 vs. Team Envy from Week 4 of the NA LCS, Sneaky achieved the first pentakill of the 2016 Summer Split due to his excellent target selection and positioning.

In team fights, marskmen should be hitting the closest available target; however, if a higher threat target comes into range, it’s important to re-target swiftly to deal with that threat.

So, before we get into the fight, let’s order the threats on NV’s team. The two biggest damage dealers on NV are Ninja’s Ezreal and LOD's Lucian. Therefore, they rank highest on the list. After that, Seraph’s Hecarim with Trinity Force is 3rd, due to his combination of crowd control and damage. Proxcin’s Rek'Sai and Hakuho’s Braum would be the lowest threat targets, due to their lower damage output.

Now, let’s get into it.

Hecarim's engage was utterly Bronze III. Their bot lane is walking along river all the way to mid lane, and Braum doesn't worm around mid lane and around the back of the wraith camp until the fight is already over. Lucian hits Cass with a fraction of an ult. Braum probably needed to flash over the wraith camp's south wall to do anything at all in that fight, but a nice Cass W made that impossible. Did NV really think ADC skillshots would be enough damage to back up that Hecarim ult? Because they weren't going to get any basic attacks in from the other side of the wraith den.
