Keuka College

We're recruiting!

There’s a new athletics team coming to Keuka College in Upstate New York, but its members won’t be playing on a turf field or inside a gym. Instead, for the first time in Division III intercollegiate athletic history, varsity-level online video gaming—or eSports—will arrive at Keuka College in early 2016. Competing in the virtual world of “League of Legends,” (LoL) the team will be backed by a full-time coach, attend regular practice sessions, and represent the Green & Gold in matches, and championship tournaments. If you're a high school junior or senior interesting in joining Keuka College's new eSports team, please visit our website to learn more and request information.

Seems great! A few questions I have are:

  1. What rank (elo/MMR) is required to join the team?

  2. Are League scholarships available?(If so what are they or where can I find information on them)

  3. What is "Division 3"?

  4. I own a pc capable of running LoL, but it is not portable, will I need to purchase a mobile laptop for different areas where the team practices or will there be a set area where team practices where I can leave my pc OR will gaming pc's/laptops be provided?

Nah, I'd rather not spend $100k for a bachelors. I don't mind going to a State University in my state.
