Game 3?

Azir is unbeaten in out TSM/TL matchup.... anyone have any idea why TSM decided in game 3 they would trade their winning pick/ban & team comp for TL's losing one? Just to make it harder, lets put turtle on the ADC he is the worst on. One of the primary reasons turtle looked so bad during the season is they made him play sivr almost every game. It's not that bad to not be good at a champ, don't see dyrus playing fizz top or bjerg playing yasuo mid, not because they're particularly bad picks, they just aren't good on them, but they keep putting turtle on his worst champion. I would think its obvious by now wild turtle is a carry adc not a support adc. I guess they really don't like 3-0 series do they, seems like they intentionally threw game 3.

I don't understand why so many people seem confused that TSM didn't pick Azir in their first rotation on red side in Game 3. It's very simple: They just don't let Bjerg get counter-picked. It's EXTREMELY rare that TSM picks a mid in their first rotation on red side.

They've played 14 games on red side this Summer split/playoffs:

Only 1 of those 14 did they get Bjerg a mid with their first 2 picks - Week 2 vs CLG. TSM blind-picked LeBlanc. CLG countered with Azir.

Of the 13 games that TSM waited until their second rotation to pick mid, only 1 of those was a blind-pick - Week 4 vs Liquid. TSM blind-picked Azir, Liquid countered with Jayce.

So, in 12 of their 14 games on red side this split (roughly 85%), TSM waited to pick a mid until after they saw what their opponent chose. Thus, it should be no surprise, AT ALL, that TSM did not take Azir in Game 3.

Now, whether they SHOULD have taken Azir is a different story. But based on the way TSM does things, nobody should have been surprised.

My friends and I were curious why they prioritized the tree over Azir as well. Dyrus has shown himself to be more than capable on Gnar if they took the tree next round. There was no reason to give up Azir.

And you're correct about WT. For better or worse, he's not amazing in lane. But he absolutely thrives in team fights, its hard to point to a single other ADC that has such dramatic differences in and out of team fights. If you put him on someone with kill resets or bonuses (Last year he was amazing on Trist), he does very well. And as TSM has proven their strength in team fights over and over again, you'd think they wouldn't be against having their team fight thriving ADC on such picks.

yes & no, his team fight on short range adcs like kalista & sivr is strait up bad, give him a long range one like trist or jinx and he jus destroys it.

Im not sure why they let Azir go through but TSM typically likes to leave their mid pick to last which worked the first 2 games then in an interview after game 4 with Dominate he said the team realized that they needed to get Bjerg off of Azir so they picked it second round. It really should've been a first round pick for TSM because of the lack of need to get Santorin on Nidalee or Elise because they were banned, but instead they went with Alistar-Maokai which was kind of odd and then Fenix got his Azir. I think TSM expected Azir to go through but because of there being no Janna for TL or really any meta jungles, they ended up prioritizing Azir so half way through the team comp, TSM had to change their strategy. I think they were really going for a Bjerg-carry comp but with Bjerg kind of forced to pick Viktor, Orianna or Ahri it would be a little bit harder for that to work (because of their cooldowns and team fight sustain) so I think they went for a comp about winning smaller fights just to take objectives and kind of bully their way to a win by slowly killing towers, taking dragons etc.

I think it was a mistake on their part but they won game 4 anyways so no harm no foul I suppose.

Also, I'll add that my grammar, run on sentences and repetition are absolutely horrible in this post. Ill blame the fact that I didn't type it in one go, but typed some and then just forgot about it. I could fix it to make it more appealing, but I'm really too tired atm lol.

after the first game azir should of been banned or first picked in every game.... 2nd game still going last pick was... very odd and after the 2nd game, I don't know how you still let it get past first round of picks... especially for the tree... the tree is something u pick like middle or end of pick/ban cause what you were planning for top lane fell through and the other team picked or banned gnar.
