The EU LCS is, without a doubt, shaping up to be one of the closest competitions in LCS history. With five teams all just one game away from the lead, they're going to be scrambling—nobody at this point has guaranteed themselves a playoff spot. For some teams, these next two games will determine whether they spend the offseason celebrating and enjoying Worlds or practicing to avoid relegation.

SK Gaming vs. Gambit Gaming

When: Thursday, March 27th, 20:00 CET / 12:00 PM PDT The EU LCS has never failed to bring exciting matches, and this week is no exception. Gambit and SK have been jockeying for a while to see who can come out in first. With both teams now tied, this match will not only determine first place heading into the final Super Week, but likely who gets the No. 1seed for playoffs, a coveted prize in a tight bracket. The losing team will also have to fight to keep their bye week. This will be a tense duel. Both teams, however, had some damp moments last week. Gambit’s loss to Alliance was a mess—Genja and Edward managed only a single assist. Meanwhile, ROCCAT’s thrashing of SK left many wondering how on earth ROCCAT ever lost to them in the first place. SK only managed two kills, and those were limited to VandeR’s Sona. What’s more is that the winner of this match is just about guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.

ROCCAT vs. Alliance

When: Thursday, March 27th, 21:00 CET / 1:00 PM PDT What a redemption story. After Alliance’s last place start, they are now just one game behind the league leaders. They’ve also got a six-game winning streak, which includes a win against ROCCAT. There’s only one thing stopping them—the number 16. That was ROCCAT’s KDA against SK Gaming last week. In just 25 minutes, ROCCAT went from a team with a four-game losing streak to again being a serious contender. The question now becomes whether they have regained their footing and can mount another assault on first place. Or maybe even better, will Alliance be able to stop them?

SK Gaming vs. Alliance

When: Friday, March 28th, 17:00 CET / 9:00 AM PDT Pending Day 1’s results, this should be an absolute thriller. Here's a possible scenario; SK Gaming, with a win against Gambit and the No. 1 spot, against Alliance on a seven-game streak after downing ROCCAT. But even if one of them (or both) loses on Day 1, this is still a tense match between two very good teams. And here’s a little factoid that adds some spice to the curry—the last team to beat Alliance was none other than SK Gaming. Looking at their previous matchup reveals a lot. While SK’s CandyPanda swept the floor and nailed a 9/0/5 stat line, Tabzz and Nyph failed to get a single kill or assist in 42 minutes—KDA 0. Was it just a stumble, or are SK the kryptonite to Alliance’s Superman? Alliance has proven that they deserve every right to be among the best in the league. Now, they just need to get there.
