North America is thrown into turmoil as CLG unexpectedly slides while Cloud9 starts an end-of-season run to catch their competition off-guard. Meanwhile, cowTard steps down from the Copenhagen Wolves, bringing an old and familiar name to the forefront of Europe's scene.

RISING PLAYERS

Doublelift

Is CLG doing particularly well at the moment? No. Recently, they've made a bad habit of snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory instead of the other way around, and tanking their regional ranking as a result. Has that stopped Doublelift at all? Also no. Even as his team falters, his sharpshooting is steady: netting two quadrakills against LMQ and 13 total kills over the course of Week 9. He seemingly thrives better under adversity.

Brokenshard

He isn't quite top of the table material yet, but Brokenshard's return to the EU scene promises rewards for the faithful. His debut on the Copenhagen Wolves was a bit rough as Fnatic showed up with impressive plays, but he was racking points up even in a loss. And in his win versus SK Gaming, he earned double-digit assist numbers to keep the fantasy hype train going. 43.25 points is a nice way to celebrate the man's return to professional play, with more yet to come.

FALLING PLAYERS

Counter Logic Gaming

For a moment, it was an exhilarating time to be a CLG fan. The team managed to claw its way to the top of North America, fending off the rampant aggression of LMQ and a resurgent Dignitas. But recent losses have served as a grim reminder that the team hasn’t quite established themselves as the frontrunner. Their games against EG and LMQ have uncovered a worrying weakness – their inability to control Dragon and Baron is not only allowing opponents to turn a losing game around, but also costing CLG a significant chunk of their potential fantasy points.

Innox

Innox's run Mundo a half dozen times in just the last few weeks, and it's hard to argue that they haven't been impactful. But while the threat of an undying tank has net EG some significant wins over Curse and CLG, its value in fantasy has been absolutely dismal, recently scoring just 6.21 points to close out Week 9. It didn't help that he ran right up against ZionSpartan's revelatory Nidalee in the process, and it doesn't help his future prospects that he's up against top tier competition for the rest of the season.
