Social Emotional Learning & outreach
Hey everyone,
I am the program coordinator for the Center for Research in Engineering and Technology Education (CREaTE) at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). We are part of the Learning Environments department and together we run a program called Tech-E camp with an outreach of more than 65,000 kids from all 9 districts in El Paso. Tech-E is a STEAM education project based learning about the emerging technologies.
We also have our e-sports club called EP Honey Badgers with more than 30 different games, and about 500 students only in campus, increasing exponential since this just started on January. All school districts are now part of our e-sports project and have started to compete among them, even with some high schools from different parts of Texas and from Pennsylvania. We have partner with VGC USA. Our objective is to improve the communities environments through video games, by using Social Emotional Learning to help those students that struggle socializing. We believe that League of Legends is a great tool to achieve this, since communication, collaboration, team work, leadership, all these skills are required to be successful.
We would like to know how Riot can help us achieve this goals if it is possible
