Everything You Need to Know About IEM San Jose 2015

The offseason is long and fraught with roster swaps, retirements, and re-signings -- not to be confused with resignings, which are also a fact of offseason life. After having our share of popcorn and speculation, there's the Season X IEM San Jose tournament to sate our appetite for professional League. November 21-22, six teams from four major regions will meet at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

And the players are . . .

Fresh off of their World Championship Semifinals appearance, Origen will represent Europe, having won the popular vote. Fnatic was voted in as the second European team; however, due to extenuating circumstances, is unable to attend and will be replaced with the Unicorns of Love.

Equally popular with fan audiences are Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming, both voted in to represent North America. China's LGD Gaming was given an opportunity to wash out the sour taste of their disappointing Worlds performance by winning their fan vote, and lastly, the Jin Air Green Wings were invited directly to represent Korea. Man that TBA guy is one hell of a player. Playing for CLG as ADC then every lane for UOL...

I don't know why everyone is dissing certain TSM. They have a completely new lineup minus Bjergsen. The only reason why anyone should have a legitimate reason to hate on TSM is if they do not like Bjergsen personally. People are getting upset about how bad TSM is when there is only one member from last split on the team still. Also C9 isn't in because not enough fans voted for them. Fans voted on what team they wanted to see, and unfortunately for some people it may not be the team that they wish. In all honesty it doesn't matter because these players are far better than a great amount of us i mean maybe one or two people that are commenting are anywhere near the rank of them, others (like me) are low elo players that are voicing our opinions. So no need to get upset about what teams are in because it comes down to the general public and everyones' choice when they had the chance.

Why do the EU teams get byes?

TurquoiseYoshi11/16/2015, 11:58:15 PM6 votes

RIP FNC. I hope whoever is sick gets better.

DrCyanide11/17/2015, 4:56:30 AM6 votes

Can't say I blame them for playing on 5.21, I feel like I'd do the same about now.

SuperJediNinja11/17/2015, 4:30:37 AM5 votes

China's LGD Gaming was given an opportunity to wash out the sour taste of their disappointing Worlds performance by winning their fan vote.

Why does this feel like a low blow to me? I'm not an LGD fan but it seemed kinda harsh or maybe I'm misinterpreting it ?

Aerothal11/19/2015, 10:12:38 PM4 votes

why have them play on 5.21? one of the biggest reasons to watch pro games is to adapt game play into your own game. it would have been much much more interesting to see them battle it out on 5.22 kinda disappointing TBH...

Good to see Jin Air on the international stage!! :) Very interested to see how this new TSM will go too, cause thats an insane lineup!

NA is dead in the IEM item 3070

Galloglaoch11/17/2015, 9:01:08 AM3 votes

I like how some NA fanboys were crying why are EU geting bye's when it's obvious that the two strongest teams among those were the two EU teams and their performance at worlds(semif) warrants them the highest seeds. Also you are crying that NA is having to face strong opposition while EU gets bye, are you ok? One of the EU teams is going 1st. replacing our strongest team(UoL - FNC) and 2nd a team that hasn't even announced their squad. TSM are going to play their first official game with their squad too but UoL wouldn't even had enough time to train with their new squad. They were supposed to get new squad till next split now they had to do emergency search. Theya re a dead card in this tournament. And since they probably won't get a bye it's already 1 EU team less.(CLG or LGD are probably getting the bye, if Worlds performance matters) So stop whining and see how your teams will do. CH and KR again have pretty weak teams so the trophy might go west. It really is up to weather TSM are good again or Origen will take it imho.

ShadowFiend81211/17/2015, 8:21:54 PM3 votes

Wondering what got Jin air the bye to the semis maybe because Korea won worlds? I'm not sure just an interesting choice

SKT Luci11/18/2015, 8:09:33 PM3 votes

gosu adc for clg?

Fluff211/17/2015, 2:16:57 AM3 votes

Really NA? I can understand Clg cause they won NA Lcs but Tsm? They are really underperforming this split.Tbh I'd rather have Tip and Clg represent NA tho I'd prefer C9 and Clg

QUE PASO CON XPEKE NO JUGARA MAS EN OG O ES SOLO POR ESTE EVENTO SU AUSENCIA

º GÖÐ º11/18/2015, 10:21:27 PM3 votes

All the salty c9 fans :3. Really though guys, none of the teams are the same anyway. Everyone hating on TSM; they have 1 member still the same.

Anakin The Weird11/17/2015, 3:50:04 AM3 votes

NA vs Korea and China, meanwhile BOTH EU teams get byes? WTF??!!! They should have at least given the byes to the teams with the highest votes!

MaestroUgo11/18/2015, 10:45:15 PM3 votes

Wait, why the heck is PowerOfEvil in for Origen as their midlander? What happened to xPeke?

Peepum11/19/2015, 3:42:05 AM3 votes

Would be nice if they would actually play on the preseason patch...kind of set a little of the tone for the upcoming season. Playing the old season for a seemingly just for fun tourny seems a bit pointless...

Heát11/19/2015, 4:55:59 PM3 votes

played on 5.21? whats the point in watching this?

Im Tehx11/17/2015, 4:06:32 AM3 votes

You guys messed up the times for the schedule, all of the 11am games are labeled pm.

Sabotage97911/18/2015, 10:59:16 PM2 votes

Can somebody tell me how they determined which teams get byes? Does anyone know?

SNIFFIE11/19/2015, 12:22:26 AM2 votes

Why the fuck is Jin Air representing Korea. 아나 미친놈들 한국을 좆으로 보네.

harrystu11/19/2015, 3:48:55 PM2 votes

Interested to see how this will play out. Honestly just a way to test the waters with new rosters for most teams
