Week 7

Aditya: P1noy, Freeze, or Altec as starting ADC?

Jayway: P1noy. Freeze suffered a setback last week against Gambit and Fnatic (just 20.64 points over two games), and it doesn't get any better against a red-hot H2K and an always-dangerous Elements looming ahead. As a volatile Fantasy player with massive extremes, it's better to stay away from Freeze if an equally good option (in this case, P1noy) is available. It certainly helps that P1noy faces off against Giants Gaming, the team that has given up the most points to ADCs in the entire LCS (24.7 pts/game). Meanwhile, Winterfox is slumping hard and their roster shuffles this week should being throwing up red flags everywhere. Avoid starting Altec until WFX gets things sorted out.

DesertPunk: Loulex or Santorin?

JW: Santorin has been the top jungler for the split (21.6 pts/game) and there are very few cases where he should be benched. Lighting up a dysfunctional WFX squad should be no issue, and he has only improved since Team SoloMid's loss to Team 8, scoring over 35 pts/week since Week 2. While Gambit and Copenhagen Wolves have historically been prone to bloodbaths, a lot has changed over the past couple weeks with both teams rising in the EU standings. GMB in particular has played well due to the resurgence of Diamond, restricting opposing junglers to just 7.6 pts/game over the past two weeks.

Raminie: Edward vs KaSing?

JW: Edward. H2K and Gambit Gaming are on fire (6-0 over the past three weeks) as they clash head-on for Day 1. But GMB's bot lane has allowed just 5.6 pts/game to opposing supports during their undefeated streak, which trumps H2K's duo (10.0 pts/game allowed to supports). Also, Edward's matchup against Giants Gaming on Day 2 looks favorable as the Spaniards have been consistently torched, surrendering over 55 points last week to KaSing and YellOwSTaR combined.

Sam: Should I start Fox or XWX?

JW: Fox. Consistency is a theme for this week, and here is a classic example of valuing the consistent player. Fox will put up at least 30 points per week (he's failed just once) while XiaoWeiXiao has missed that mark in three of the six weeks so far. Team Impulse faces off against rising teams in Cloud9 and Team Liquid which should hurt XiaoWeiXiao's chances of surpassing SK's reliable Fox this week. If the FNC Febiven matchup is worrisome, it should be noted that Fox still put up 17.41 points against him.

Derrick: Soren or Betsy?

JW: Betsy. Whenever you have two strong picks, play the matchup game. Who are your players playing against? In this case, both of these guys face H2K, so we only need to look at the other team they play against: Soren versus Elements and Betsy versus Giants Gaming. It's difficult to start Soren against Froggen and company, a team that, even during their slump (2-6 over four weeks), has given up the fewest points to opposing mid laners (just 12.2 pts/game).
