Ten teams scored a victory during the first day and moved onto the second day of Play-In competition. All that stood between those ten teams and the bracket stage was one more victory and the opportunity to take one step closer to LCS glory.
Game of the Week
noMERCY vs. Shantao Macht Wau
The first game of the day set the bar at an extraordinarily high level. SpellFang's Pantheon and Cekutka's Shyvana were dive buddies and consistently disrupted the Shantao Macht Wau backline of Jinx (Shantao) and avenuee (Orianna), but still the team held on. A pair of miracle Baron steals from Shantao Macht Wau's jungler Saitain on Kha'Zix helped carry the team while Orianna and Jinx scaled into the late game.
The game finally turned in SMW's favor during a last ditch defense of their base. SpellFang mistimed his Grand Skyfall, and the enormous damage burst from Shantao and avenuee knocked him out of the teamfight very early. Without his dive buddy, Cekutka found himself kited by Shantao due to Jinx's Get Excited! passive. SMW rolled up noMERCY behind an unfettered backline and managed to rush across the map to knock down the noMERCY Nexus after almost an hour of pulse-pounding, back and forth action.
Top Performers of the Week
Carlos "ocelote" Rodriguez

Since ocelote departed from SK Gaming and formed Gamers2, the team has been trying and failing to make a deep European Challenger Series run. All of those struggles were forgotten for a single day thanks to ocelote's Kassadin against Heavy Botlane. He acquired it as a first pick, and proceeded to put his team on his back with a monumental 7/0/10 effort. Ocelote's omnipresence on the Rift was a key cog in Gamers2's victory, and they'll be looking for him to continue his dominant performances going forward when the team matches up against Shantao macht Wau in the first round of the bracket stage.
Marek "Makler" Kukier

The former Meet Your Makers AD carry joined forces with two of his former MYM compatriots on Lublin Shore with their eyes towards making the LCS again. If they make it, it will not be for lack of effort on Makler's part. During Lublin Shore's game against GG Call Nash, Makler posted a 12/2/7 score on Twitch. Since the Plague Rat's ascension as one of the most powerful AD carries in League of Legends, Makler's mastery of the champion will put Lublin Shore's next opponent, Denial Esports, in a major bind during picks and bans.
