Dynamic Replays, Fly-by Cameras
I am surprised that - by this season's Worlds tournaments - not one single special camera has been used for reviews, highlights or replays. Fly-by camera techniques could add a new layer of excitement and appreciation for pro plays. Since League of Legends takes place in an entirely 3D environment, it should be relatively easy to add this functionality to replays / observer cameras.
A number of mods throughout the game have allowed fully 3D cameras and fly-by effects for observers and replays.
(Case in point would be this camera mod from this Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28RH78R4Y1c)
I have never used any modifications on my League for fear of breaking some EULA rules or corrupting my game files, but I have waited in hopes that this functionality be put into the game.
The truth is I would use this very rarely in my personal playing. The reason I want to see this functionality incorporated is for watching competitive ESport play. Watching the live game from the traditional camera is optimal, but when replays are being watched it would not only add flavor but also give a different / better perspective to the fight and allow viewers to see exactly what happened. It would also give more valuable footage since you could approach the same fight from 2 or 3 angles to really appreciate all of the players' technique.
I really believe this will also increase the dramatic effect, the action and the overall excitement of watching Pro ESports and get more viewers interested in the game. Take a page from other professional sports and give this a try, please!
