Guaranteed it happened. TSM doesnt ever win finals because of some awesome plays they make. They win finals because the opposing team plays like they belong in wood 6 at key moments, because they get paid to do so.
this isnt a discussion of IF Immortals got paid off, that much is given, its a question of HOW MUCH they got paid off
i hope they didnt sell out for less than 5 figures per player.

III BAKURYU III 1 votesTrue, but NA did in fact lose their/our #1 seed, very similar to what happened to EU(G2) last year, pretty much NA #1 seed will be in a group with either LCK's #1 LZ Gaming LPL #1 Edward Gaming or EU #1 G2 Esports but since it's NA and since TSM will most likely win, it's only fitting that they get the hardest group, so I'm expecting to see them against LZ Gaming LCK's #1 seed.

The EU #2 seed got a much easier group than their #1 seed, NA's now punishment, (again, without switching #seeds or regions)

Again, like you said the group draw is random to some degree, but it's a massive disadvantage to really be the NA#1 seed at this point. NA #2 seed can still be in a group with say LCK#2 seed SKT and all, but they could maybe have a chance of not getting LCK but instead the International equivalent of NA's TSM(Edward Gaming) instead.

well yeah, and thats why theve gotta win. doesnt matter if theyre the best team in NA. theyve got the loudest fanbase, so the money will ALWAYS find its way to the right pockets to buy them a championship

Miror B2 votesSimple: they chose the most popular guy on a good team instead of who was actually more valuable to their team (like how Lira was robbed in spring). Replace him on TSM with the average NALCS mid, and they probably go from 1st to around 3-4th. Replace a guy like Jensen on C9, and with their lack of carries you're basically looking at a 9th place team.
