Who will join Renegades and Team Dignitas EU as part of the LCS next season? Will we see any more shake-ups between the Challenger and LCS scene? It’s time for LCS and Challenger teams to collide at the 2016 Spring Promotion Tournament.

What’s the format? Who’s competing?

The Promotion Tournament will be Best of 5 matches on September 5-6. The 8th and 9th place LCS teams will compete against the 2nd and 3rd place Challenger teams from Spring Split. The 8th place LCS team selected their opponent from the two opposing Challenger teams.

Europe:

  • SK Gaming (EU LCS 9th place) vs. Gamers2 (EU CS 3rd place)
  • Gambit Gaming (EU LCS 8th place) vs. Mousesports (CS 2nd place)

North America:

  • Enemy Esports (NA LCS 9th place) vs. Team Coast (NA CS 2nd place)
  • Team 8 (NA LCS 8th place) vs. Team Imagine (NA CS 3rd place)

What’s on the line?

Two LCS spots are up for grabs in North America and Europe. The winners of the Promotion Tournament will play in the 2016 LCS Spring Split in their region. If your favorite team is defeated, you’ll still be able to cheer them on as part of the Challenger scene. The losing teams of the Promotion Tournament will auto-qualify for 2016 CS Spring Split.

When is it all happening? How do I WATCH?

The Promotion Tournament kicks-off with all the European matches at 5:00am PDT/2:00pm CEST on Saturday, September 5. The tournament action will continue on with the North American matches on Sunday, September 6 at 12:00pm PDT/9:00pm CEST. i feel bad for tdk cause they were doing so good when they only had like 4 games left, if they could've played like that the whole split maybe even a chance at playoffs

I am so sad because Riot ignores Dominion. You can no longer see your score in Dominion since the HUD update. More bots than ever. I want 10-20% of the people working on other modes modes to work on Dominion. That is all I am asking for. Are there even people working on this mode at all right now? They even stopped the Dominion exclusive balance changes. And let us gain mastery points in Dominion already! Just give it it´s own system if you don´t want us to gain normal points there. And even TT has a ranked mode. I don´t need Dominion SoloQ, but at least let us play Dominion team-ranked. Right now it feels like Riot values Dominion lower than ARAM. They did more changes and fixes to that mode than to Dominion recently. The texture update was nice and all, but there many more things that need to be done. Dominion still has the old camera perspective from before the new SR for example. I really like what you guys do on SR, but I would really like some love for Dominion.

Gamers2 beating SK gaming would be awesome, ocelote's team vs his old team, also jesiz as adc where he replaced ocelote in the midlane for sk ... and he reached worlds. I think im the only interested in this match lol

LMAO If you do not like LCS why are you blogging on the League of Legends site and spending time to comment on things you don't even care about!? two words... NOOOBS!! hehehe

As for the related article I'm voting for NME and IMAGINE. IMO (in my opinion) Coast was trash all LCS season and does not deserve to get back in. Mash was all talk and no walk. Sheep was decent support.... but try carrying your team as support in solo que... yeah, it's hard. (What SHE Said).

No matter what the outcome I sure am glad up to 3 teams can rotate in fresh blood each and every split!

Does anyone know what the first place cs team gets, because the article only mentioned that the second and third place teams get a chance to win a spot in the lcs.

I'm hoping that Imagine and Coast make it in. For the first time ever a complete overhaul/clean sweep for Promotions.

Predictions: Gamers2 > SK (SK is ded. Their entire organization is in shambles, from what I've heard) Gambit > Mousesports (Gambit was one bad week away from the playoffs)

Coast > Enemy (Coast pubstomps CS, goes to LCS, gets pubstomped, rinse and repeat) Team8 > Imagine (Team 8 showed serious quality near the end of the summer split)

Hopefully Coast loses. They may have a new roster but it's still Coast. 1/17 in the Spring with 16 straight losses? We don't need a freebie-win team in the competition

Azir would be very high used champ on EUW due to his old roaming skills but now, because they removed his E when he knocks up people he is less used in LCS because less roaming............
