After Ekko was introduced many of the pros (in the LCS at least) decided he was best kept in the jungle. Many teams in Asia though kept playing him mid, as well as jungle. At worlds we've seen plenty of Ekko mid but none in the jungle. I'm just wondering what deterred him form being played mind in the EU and NA LCS

He fits a lot of the playstyle that Asian players prefer: go in, and go in hard. In EU and NA, we saw his utility as a tank and grasped that full-force. That's just how some regions develop. You still see some mid Ekkos in the west and jungle Ekkos in the east, but it's just a stylistic difference that the regions have.

Actually, at the time of Tankko's prime, I saw him more jungle in Asia. He started out as an everything everywhere, and then went to be a jungle Tankko, and then, after his Tankko nerfs and AP Ekko buffs, he turned into a safe mid pick with few counters and good waveclear.
