What happened with NALCS?

I just saw this post... Who are all these teams? I never heard of them before, and where are Immortals, Team Dignitas? Help me pls i'm confused [zombie-brand-mindblown]

there was an application process where hundreds of people applied for the new franchised spots.. riot wanted a mix of endemic esports orgs and new orgs not from esports back ground..
apart of this process was showing riot your books and how profitable of an org you are.. and apparently this is the reason immortals were not chosen because they have not shown a profit since 2015.. now getting people to buy into your org and own a % and having people sponsor your org are two different things.. and with the lack of personal sponsors for immortals and relying on investor capital its not a business model that can last.. and riot didn't want that type of org in the NA LCS franchise since everyone will be pooling the profits together and sharing. to help it grow
It's part of the new NA LCS franchising system. 10 teams were chosen, and existing teams (IMT, DIG) were not guaranteed a spot. That page lists the 10 teams that will part of the NA LCS for the next 8 years (I believe, could be off a little).
