Pics from local Tournament

I advise the Event Production Club (EP'C) at Southern Utah University, and I thought I would post some photos and notes from the 3v3 tournament we put on last weekend.

We decided to take team photos at check-in. We projected a green background onto a white wall and used a portable spotlight for some dramatic side-lighting for the teams. The background is three separate photos of dry-ice fog, colored and combined in Photoshop. We used the beta-version of the free software called DigiCam Control to tether our Nikon and automate the green-screen effect.

The team photos were a crowd favorite.

EP'C chose the Rotunda- a round room, preset with tables. After working with our IT department, we secured 6 network switches to allow players to bring their own computers.

Two teams sat at each of our tall tables. Teams were arranged so that competing teams were at separate tables, with a curtain between, if necessary.

##Watching the Games/Unforeseen Tech Problems EP'C initially planned to have 4 screens for spectating games running at all times. Unfortunately, our VLAN ran out of addresses, and we ended up with only 2 viewing stations.

We had 14 teams compete, and we brought a lot of people to campus who typically feel under-represented. For many, this was their first club-run event at SUU. Now that we have seen the turn out for 3v3, a 5v5 tournament is in the works.
