Group A concludes today as ROX Tigers, G2 Esports, Counter Logic Gaming, and Albus NoX Luna take to the stage to battle it out and see who will make it to the Quarterfinals.

General

  • It has already been the best showing for International Wildcard teams at three wins.
  • No team has gone 0-3 in the first half of the Group Stage and made it to Quarterfinals.
  • This is the first year in the current format (since 2014) that no team has gone 3-0 in Week 1 of the Group Stage.
  • Apart from Cloud9 last year, every team that has gone 3-0 in the first half of the Group Stage has made it to Semifinals.
  • Any team that is currently 0-3 has to win all three games for a chance at a tiebreaker.

ROX Tigers

  • They have 12 isolated deaths, highest amount of any team, and Smeb is the highest culprit with 4.
  • They have 2,604 team damage per minute -- the highest out of any team.
  • They have a -2.1k gold difference at 10 -- the lowest of all teams at Worlds. They also average -739 GD @ 20 which is 10th.
  • Kuro gets very little of the team’s gold at 20.24%, which is the lowest of all mids and well below the average of 22%. Despite this, he still does an above average amount of the team’s damage at 27%.
  • Kuro struggles in lane, averaging -13.3 CSD at 15, the third lowest out all mids.

G2 Esports

  • On average Perkz takes 13% of Trick’s jungle at 15 minutes. It’s the most jungle share at 15 minutes out of any mid laner.
  • Despite their 0-3 record, Zven remains one of the most efficient ADCs. In terms of damage to gold ratio he ranks fourth: he does 31.7% of his team’s damage whilst taking 21.9% of the team’s gold.
  • Zven averages a positive CSD from 5-20 minutes and is up 9.67 CSD at 15 minutes (5th amongst ADCs).
  • Trick averages 52.3 jungle creeps at 15 minutes, the fourth lowest.
  • However he does not make up for this by putting more pressure on lanes -- G2 also has the fourth lowest team jungler proximity at 41.3%.
  • He also has the lowest time counter-jungling of all Worlds junglers at 1.3%.

Counter Logic Gaming

  • CLG is one of the most bot focused teams. Stixxay has the highest jungle proximity of all ADCs at 16.6%. As such, Stixxay has 71.4% KP at 15, tied with PraY for the highest among ADCs.
  • Aphromoo is tied for the most kills + assists before 15 minutes with Karsa at 12. He’s one of the very few supports to have more kills and assists early than the jungler.
  • Xmithie has 9 kills + assists before 15 minutes, while CLG has a total 14 kills in that time span.
  • They have a 51.9% team jungler proximity -- the third highest at Worlds.
  • Huhi has +17 CSD at 15, the 2nd most of mid laners.
  • On average they take the outer mid turret faster than any other team -- taking it on average at 16:53 which is 6 minutes faster than average.
  • They have a 73% dragon taken rate with 8 taken and 3 conceded.

Albus NoX Luna

  • PvPStejos does more damage at 15 than any other jungler -- by far -- he does 3,817 DMG which +1,611 above the average.
  • The team averages -2787 GD at 20 minutes.
  • They are tied for most dragons taken with ROX Tigers and Flash Wolves.
  • aMiracle averages -25.3 CSD at 15 minutes, the lowest amongst ADCs.
  • This is possibly because Likkrit roams the most, spending just 51.3% of his time with aMiracle from 3-15 minutes.
  • On average Likkrit buys his Sightstone at 10:29, the slowest Sightstone purchase time amongst supports (Avg - 7:47).
  • Likkrit does 376 DMG per min., more than double the average damage for a support.

Tune in today to watch the conclusion of Group A as we find out the two teams from this group that will make it through to the Quarterfinals.

So long CLG and G2. Both had a good Spring then MSI they were polar opposites and then Summer happened and now it all led to this. Better luck next time.
