10 thoughts going into Week 7

Here's this week's 10 thoughts from @meanmisterkien!

Time's flying! Soon it will be August, and August means it's almost September, and September means WORLDS! I've been excited since Worlds ended last year. But for now, which NA teams are best poised to even make it?

I think some fans(myself included) are upset with TL with roster swaps because they've yet to use it on Piglet; Piglet a great player and talent no question but when TL has a much better record without him oppose to with him it gets annoying. I'm sure once the team has 0 talent next split they will remove Piglet and when TL starts off like 0-8 the ownership etc will be like " See, it wasn't Piglet's fault" Fabbyy/Broken/Keith have all been on TL and improved the team with W's or looks much better than when Piglet seems to be on such roster.

" Spin to win" - Garen confirmed to be played by Zig for P1

FQ and EF are one of the same, 1 team plays super aggressive without much knowledge of what to do, while the other plays super passive with such traits as the next. Hai needs to step-up for his team and Froggen needs to help his team, the Akaadian blue buff steal 2v4 while Froggen was busy farming was yet, another example of Froggen's need to CS instead of help( they won that game tho when Froggen was on Corki tho) but it shows that just because you're a monster in lane doesn't mean S$it anymore and Froggen is still living in 2014 it seems.

C9 are still technically a top tier team in such categories 4th in Kills(13.5), 2nd least deaths(11.6), 3rd in Towers taken(7.2), 4th in Towers lost(6.1), 5th in Dragons(1.87) and 3rd in Barons(0.87) but so was XDG/Team Vulcan in the past and they got a swift and quick elimination in the early years of LCS, C9 needs to figure out who is their starting top, Jensen needs to stop looking up the Froggen book of win lane/lose game and Sneaky needs to get more than 8 kills in 5 games for C9 to actually do something.

NV are the longest average team in the LCS at around 39-40 mins per game and yet, their 1ST in least deaths but are top tier with vision/ sub par with objectives around 5-6th in such objectives. If NV can work on their objective taking they could be a team to fear in playoffs.

DIG may be good but it's history of actually performing in the second half of the splits are ? for me still. Facing TSM and C9 will give everyone a real scout on the real DIG.

IMT are a fast team by game time but they're a very smart and patient team also, they know how to aim before firing and it's actually nice to see a team know what to do instead of just running it down mid T1 style.
4.93(kills) 2.86(deaths) 5.0(assists) and 281.4(cs) will be my prediction on Cody Sun for this week, also predicting 182(kills) 96(deaths) 243(assists) and 12,695(cs) total for Cody at the end of the split, he'll go 64-34-65-3,206 the rest of the split.

I never comment on these threads, decided to pop in just to mention this is the most nonsensical forum post in LCS history, and that's really saying something. I've genuinely never seen anyone be more wrong. Piglet is the sole bright spot a terrible terrible team and it hurts to watch Liquid's roster fail him so often.

Facts are facts tho, Piglet Yes, is a great player. Yes, his team sucks Team Liquid as a team as a competitive org is garbage, but when the team subs in other players to take the role of Piglet in the ADC spot and WINS or looks BETTER it's not nonsensical it's fact.

Excluding 2017 Summer Split for Piglet since no other ADC has played other than Piglet and also I don't think having a 6 win out of 28 games will be that much better.

2015 Spring - 2017 Spring Fabbbyyy 19 games won out of 34 Keith 3 games won out of 4 Youngbin 3 games won out of 6 ............... 25 games out of 44

Piglet 49 games won out of 106 + (2017 Summer so far - 6 out of 28 )

The Subs on TL have more of a chance to win games than the Korean -starting and star on TL does, Would gladly take 25-44 over 49-106 anytime

You do realize that Piglet was mid for much of spring 2017, right?

III BAKURYU III 1 votes

Yeah, and still failed within lcs standards. Didn't have a support to make excuses, lost lane each game it seemed and only won 8 games out of 21/ W/ D-Lift.

Piglet ADC excluding his mid 41-W 85-L Other ADC players in his role 30-W 59-L

I respect your position but disagree with how you have made your argument. You claim that substitutes have a higher winrate than Piglet does, but I actually do not believe that the information shows that. First things first, I would like to remove Keith, Youngbin, and also Jynthe (1-1 in playoffs 2016), as none of the three had any significant playtime so we could see how they would turn out over a longer period. The only realistic sub that we have seen is fabbbyy, who I will agree had a higher winrate than piglet. But this is a misleading statistic. Fabbbyyy had a distinct advantage in that it was a meta he was more comfortable in, and he had spent a significant time play with Matt on TLA. Matt has been arguably a source of problems for Team Liquid since he arrived, however when he played with Fabbbyyy, he had someone who not only spoke English, but also was accustomed to playing his style. Of the team, he has only played recently with Goldenglue, statistically one of the worst mid laners in the NA LCS. Backtrack to 2015, when Piglet not only had Xpecial in the bot lane, but also a team he had been more used to playing with, including a more consistent Fenix, IWILLDominate, and Quas, and his record is 38-24, giving him about a 7 percent higher winrate than with Fabbbyyy. So I ask you, say that you wanted to test your theory and trade for Fabbbyyy or Keith for Piglet. Fabbbyyy is not in the right meta, and as such has not been the most consistent player for Big Gods Jackels, sitting in the bottom half of challenger in KDA, Kills, Deaths, and CS/Min. And (I am sorry for speculation), if you were to swap Keith and Piglet, I honestly believe that Liquid would perform worse in most games, and Echo Fox sits at a level of play similar to DIG, a legitimate playoff contender. The problem isn't Piglet, the problem is Reignover and Goldenglue. Reignover struggled with the meta for a long time. When he was voted jungler of the split, the meta was mostly engage tanks. However, with the reappearance of Gragas and Rek'sai, he actually has looked much better, now that he can play Elise, Gragas, Rek'sai, Olaf, ect. Goldenglue cannot carry, so he has to find other ways of assisting his team. His Galio has looked incredible, his Syndra is good, and his Taliyah is subpar, but doesnt need much gold to help the team. He has not won a game this split on a champion not named Galio, Syndra, or Taliyah. So never take him off of those and you give your team a much better chance at winning.

" He was a meta he was more comfortable"

  • lol, you sound like someone else on these boards 2-3 splits ago when speaking about Piglet and his " It's not his meta" When is it his "meta" I thought aggressive ADC carries was his style? What about objective focused/shields 24/7 ADC meta ? Fabbbyyy in a meta that suited him and he performed as such in his first split > a Korean World Champion that played with Faker and is now in NA, it's like seeing a 5 year old swim in the "kid" pool "ok, nothing special" but at the same time a 30 year old doing worse in the same situation, but can swim pretty good in the 30"feet pool(LCK). I understand the Matt subject - I honestly forgot about Matt/Fabbyyy on TLA +1 so I will tip my hat to you about that, as well as the communication. He has a bad attitude, and any NA coach telling him what to do will be with swift and quick glances of " I'm a World Champion/Korean I know what to do" His first split was like that, with a bad attitude.
His second split was better but not really, his improvement on the rift was fine TL #1st I believe in the standings but still the same story outside of the rift. So even when TL wins he still has that same ol' attitude, winning or losing.

" 38-24" - Where what split, Piglet ? 2015 Spring - Summer Team Liquid 10-8(Spring) 14-5(Summer) Piglet with Quas/IWD is 19-13 in the regular season, 12-9 in the Playoffs + the 3rd place games 31-22 total

2016 Spring - Summer Team Liquid 10-8(Spring) 22-21(Summer) Piglet in 2016 is 10-8 in the Spring, 5-6 in the Playoffs 3-6 in the Summer 18-20

It was Piglet that wanted Xpecial to leave the team when Xpecial himself thought that he and Piglet were improving, 2 splits and not the ORG(CLG) but a player demanding players to be kicked. Quas left because while it's not documented anywhere that I can find/heard on(camera/print) etc I believe he left or retired, 1 split joined a CS team, because of Piglet and his attitude. ( Xpecail/Quas leaves) - Matt/Lourlo joins

The theory is far too late now, everyone on TL are drained, tired and their motivation is gone- even if TL swaps Piglet for Keith/Fabbyy - what's the point- they're eliminated from playoffs/Worlds ?
However, say Piglet was indeed swapped before the season with Fabbyyy - You said it yourself Matt and Fabbyy have played together and overall did decent on both TLA/TL. With Keith it's interesting because everyone uses him as a rug - in both solo Q games and in the LCS - he's the decoy in every game, watch EF games, he gets 0 ganks, he gets 0 peels, and he's the one that tries to get the enemy team to follow him so EF can do baron/Dragon because if you're the ADC and you get 0 resources you yourself would try to do something/anything to help your team.

I personally don't watch CS - so again, I'll tip my hat to you good sir +1

With GG and Reignover - start with GG man - Always sucked - sorry, but it's true and I do agree with your speculation/thought on him. Been in the scene for 3-4 years going from garbage team to garbage team and yet, never landing a starting position, which means those teams knew too that he sucked. Like even after his "Korean training" he went like 0(kills 12(deaths) in his first few games.
With Reignover let's be honest Huni > Reignover - Huni is pretty much Romeo and once he left Reignover did his best " Huni - Huni, where are tho Huni" - Juliet impression.
I do agree as I stated the team/org etc is 100% garbage and really has been since it's formation in the League scene.

I do think Piglet has talent, and overall a great player I'v stated that numerous times in my post too, but too many things are on him currently, bad attitude etc. I'm just surprised that with all of these swaps TL still hasn't swapped out Piglet for another player for the future.

Overall, I too respect you thoughts/opinions and glad we could have a grown-up conversation even if we disagree on such things!

If you consider that post to be the most nonsensical forum post in LCS history (which is clearly far from it), then your post is 10 ten times worse than that. I never comment on these threads much either, but your post was just comically stupid. Unless you were trolling and want attention (as most trolls do), then congrats. Just please don't be a grill.

In a strange way the semi-final byes rest in the hands of DIG. DIG plays TSM this week, IMT next, and CLG in the final week. Say if things good in the top 3 teams favors they can still lose (or win) everything based off of how they deal with DIG.

If IMT and DIG beat CLG then TSM and IMT get spots.

If DIG and CLG beat TSM then CLG and IMT get spots.

If DIG and CLG beat IMT then CLGT and TSM get spots.

My thought of the week.

Of the three top teams, the one with the hardest road left is CLG. All of them have Dig and NV left from that middle tier. but CLG has both IMT left and TSM whereas the latter two don't play each other again. But that also means that if CLG can win them both, they're in great position and would be very likely to get a top 2 if not one.

Of the 4-6 teams Dig has been looking good. but they have all of the top 3 left plus C9. NV has it easy this week. but the last two are CLG and TSM, and IMT and C9 the last. Good luck with that.
C9 has Dig and NV left. But none of the top three. They have the easiest schedule left of the this group and of the entirety of the top 6.

Of other teams that could challenge Fox has all three of the top 3 plus Dig and Cloud 9. Good luck with that.
FQ has TSM and IMt left of the top three, plus NV and Cloud 9.
I really don't see either of these teams coming from Two down of C9. And NV and Dig are three games ahead. They're mathematically still in it. But realistically, I think we're very near to any given weak anything can happen territory with these two.

We've seen P1 can play. But we have yet to see that team that supposedly was going to go on a rampage. Well they had better. They're 3 games out of the playoffs with C9 not having to play any of the top 3 and P1 having to play 2 of them.

Liquid. Uh no. Just no. No no no no. Noooooo.

But how is Team Liquid supposed to fail in the playoff semis without even making it to the playoffs?[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Indeed, TL wishes they could make the playoffs or even be 4TH - who would have thought those 4th memes were actually praises compared to these days
