Ask the Pros: Fnatic's Febiven

Ask The Pros is an ongoing series on Lolesports where we ask a pro player questions from the community. The player then picks the next pro the community will get to ask questions. Be sure to follow us on Twitter to submit your questions for the next Q&A!

In our last Ask The Pros interview, we talked with TSM's AD carry Doublelift about dominating bot lane and moving to TSM.

He also had a question for Fnatic's mid laner, Febiven.

Doublelift: How is it to go from the new guy to playing with several new people? Do you feel like Fnatic relies more heavily on you to perform than they did before?

Febiven: It's really cool to play with several new players because every person is different in-game and outside of the game. I really like creating relationships so we can build trust and love so we can use this to our advantage in-game. It's always nice to play with people who really want to improve and have the same goals that I have.

I feel like Fnatic relies heavily on me to perform now, because we used to have Huni and Reignover, who basically just played high-damage champions and carried every early game while I was just farming and not communicating enough. Now it's a whole different story. I have to step up in many ways to make my team as good as last year.

The Need to Win

Sophia: What comes first: League, your family, or your team?

F: My family.

Boo: Why did you start playing LoL?

F: I started playing LoL when my gaming friends introduced it to me. We were playing a lot of Call of Duty at the time. Then, one day, one of them said, ''Hey, let's try League of Legends.'' I've been playing ever since.

Mikey: Who was the first champion you bought and what role did you play?

F: The only thing I can remember is that I really loved Riven when I first bought her. I was playing top lane then.

Hatte: Why did you choose "Febiven" as your pro name?

F: I used to play a lot of Riven when I first started and I combined it with my real name, Fabian. I replaced 'a' with 'e' because Fabiven sounds a bit weird. *laughs*

Medic: What professional match did you feel the strongest urge/need to win?

F: The match against KOO Tigers at the Semifinals of Worlds last year at Brussels. I really wanted to go to the Finals and show all my fans and family that we could make it...

Uy: Have you ever considered moving to Korea?

F: No! I'd love to bootcamp there again for practice, but I would rather live somewhere else.

State of the Game

Luca: Where would you rank yourself among current EU mid laners?

F: Top 3.

Nahej: How do you feel about the current meta at the LCS level?

F: The current meta in the LCS is really snowbally, so the best teams are really the ones not making mistakes and forcing enemy mistakes. At least in EU, the meta is very snowbally because everyone is playing for early game.

Fabio: How have you dealt with the alleged lack of leadership on the team after Yellowstar left?

F: Rekkles and Deilor are trying to fill this role, because they are the real adults. Meanwhile, I see myself more as a kid. But I will definitely grow into this role sooner or later.

John: How did you get to become friends with your new teammates so quickly?

F: I don't know. I just talk a lot outside of the game and I'm trying to build really good relationships outside of the game, so that it's easier for us to be better in-game. I think being friends and having trust is really important.

Sky: Can you 1v1 Faker again at MSI this year?

F: Yes, definitely.

Talan: Why do you think there are no female players in the LCS currently?

F: I don't think females are spending enough time practicing to become pro. I think most girls just play for fun and don't actually try to become really good. I have no idea if there are ever going to be female players in EU LCS.

Viet: Do you think that Fnatic could beat Immortals? Can anyone beat Immortals?

F: I think right now it would be really difficult. But, with time, we are definitely going to be strong and we could probably beat them.

MID LANE

Jay: Can you teach us how to juke as good as you do?

F: I can't teach you how to juke as good as me, but you should try to click as fast as possible and have unpredictable movement.

Gail: Why isn't Lux played more in the LCS?

F: Lux is very immobile and she is very weak against champions like Poppy, Alistar, and others with lots of crowd control. Also, you need to land Light Binding to be able to hit Final Spark, which is difficult if you don't have your team setting that up for you.

Busherino: When will you finally play Zed in the LCS?

F: We are on patch 6.3 right now, so potentially in the next weeks. *winks*

Turtle: I'm a support main who wants to try mid. What champions should I try first in patch 6.3?

F: Ahri, Viktor, Twisted Fate, and LeBlanc.

Misery: When climbing in ranked, do you prefer to play mages or assassins? Why?

F: Assassins, because you are mobile. That means you can make plays and move around the map.

Xiway: How do I know when and why I should build Void Staff over Rabadon's Deathcap?

F: Check if the enemies have Magic Resist. If they don't, you buy Deathcap.

Fun with Febiven

Karri: What do you like to do besides gaming?

F: Play football and party with friends and family.

Kenny: Who do you have the biggest bromance with on the Fnatic team?

F: Spirit.

Neko: Dogs or cats?

F: Dogs.

Ryaru: What are your favorite TV series and anime series?

F: Prison Break is probably the best series I've watched! I recently started watching Breaking Bad but I'm just in the beginning, so I have to see how this continues.

Kaas: Do you want to be my valentine?

F: Depends if you are cute.

Lolesports Editor: We got at least 7 marriage proposals for you just in this question list. Some from men, and some from women. How many marriage proposals do you think you've gotten over the course of your pro career?

F: Maybe around 50 or 100. I have literally no clue. *laughs*

LoLesports: What pro player do you want to answer questions next?

F: Immortal's Reignover: How is living in America compared to Europe and Korea? What are the fans (and fangirls) like? And how much do you miss me?

Josh Augustine's favorite champion is Teemo, he's never enjoyed a Darius, and he will always go for the kill, even when he knows he shouldn't. He currently works as a game designer at Daybreak Games. He’d love to talk with you on Twitter.

I think its funny that Febiven asks Reignover the question after he talked crap when comparing him with Spirit in an interview

Febiven is my favorite pro player, cool to see him on Ask The Pros! Always thought his IGN looked like a mixture of "Riven" and his name, interesting to see that confirmed!
