There are people who prefer one or the other. If you like the chat, Twitch is probably better. If you don't care about chat, choose based on which is easier to use and less laggy on your computer/tablet/whatever. For me, it's Youtube, but I've seen it different in different places.

Twitch runs terribly for me, 15 fps on low settings at the best of times, youtube streams run perfectly and near HD quality for me, so i watch youtube because twitch offers me no reason to use it. Because of the terrible quality and stuttering video I don't understand why twitch gets so much hype, but maybe it works better for others, if it does all the power to you. But yes i instantly close youtube chat, racist, spammy, it's just awful in every way.

probably might be the fact that youtube is already a well established, more-than-likely multi-million dollar company that has the resources to get what they need for everything related to hosting and streaming videos, whereas twitch is newer and while they probably have access to some things, they may not have as much to access as youtube does in terms of hardware and other things.

Twitch is probably more popular as a game streaming community, but youtube technically has much more available in terms of resources.
