Prime Matches Going to Primetime

When we set our schedules for the Split prior to kick-off, we can’t perfectly predict when the fan favorite and most crucial games will take place. To make it easier for fans to watch these matches live, we’re implementing flexible scheduling starting with Week 8. Flexible scheduling allows us to adjust the schedule so that the biggest matches fall within the "primetime" viewing window. These key matches become more important as we get closer to NA and EU Regionals. The day-to-day matchups will still be the same, but we may shift match order around as teams rise and fall in the standings. We plan to provide at least 14 days notice for any changes to weekly schedules for the rest of the 2014 season.

Reschedule to capture optimal viewership, but not so Gambit can actually play their matches. Hmm....

Gambit confirmed can't play week 8 because they can't get visas for the new hours during the flexed schedule.

Stop going ful-blown retard. They aren't allowing the rescheduling of matches due to players not obtaining required visa's to attend.

They're announcing how the planned schedule may change (at their discretion) from their original order.

EXAMPLE: If Curse vs CLG is determined it needs to be moved to a different time slot, but Curse is incapable of showing up then that team will forfeit, this isn't a "F U Gambit" option being made available by Riot to save Curse in such a situation and allow them to reschedule the match/

When they know Gambit needs to leave early or come in late one week, they'll flex Gambit to when they are unavailable.

I'm not really happy with these changes. The EU ones look like they want a strong opener and a strong closer and a weak middle, while NA just builds up to the final match.

While both have some logic behind them, the NA rescheduling is shit for fans in EU. The good matches are way too late to watch on a regular basis now.

I'm usually going out on saturdays so I watch one match and leave and I have to work a 12 hour shift on monday so I won't stay up till 3 am the day before.

I know it's not same fun as live but you can watch the matches back on youtube the day after. Also, don't reply to people who think drinking milk is an insult.

people complaining about the viewing times are somehow forgetting that the VODs are uploaded and available for free, almost immediately after the days matches are over. So if you cant stay up/get up/be bothered to watch the matches live, you can always watch the VODs at your convenience.

No, they mean that the more important games are later on. Hence all the top teams being around 12pm(pacific) =Primetime

No they're not saying that. Look at the time these games are expected to start. They want the games to start at prime-time for each region (5-8) PM roughly. So that more people will be able to watch them

Those games are not only seen on NA my friend, on Europe we also follow NA LCS, thats why primetime viewing window is global. Therefore, C9 vs TSM is obviously more important than LMQ vs COL

On Sunday night, the last game of the night is not prime time. Less people are watching late on Sunday and that's why they decided to move the c9 vs TSM game to be earlier than the Col vs LMQ game.

I don't like this. If you are a fan of a team and here Riot is trying to say they suck and they will be put to a time you no longer are able to see. A worse team in standing doesn't show how much fans do they have.

I don't know at what time the NA matches come in the USA but for us europeans the earlier the better. I can only watch the first 2 games of NALCS so if the prime matches came then, would be nice for us europeans too.

European games happen starting at 9am (Los Angeles/Riot time) to 12 noon (New York), depending on the time zone. Making the last match the "prime time" match makes the most sense out of any choice, as that puts it beyond 3pm New York time, and possibly in some viewers' schedules there; that is, if you are scheduling "prime time" to take into account the US.

If you can mix the two reasonably, you get a much bigger audience. Granted, that's kind of hard on a weekday (where daytime schedules put a lower limit on the times the two can intersect).

People get so mad at riot when it was probably the team choosing which time they want to play at. The team probably chose the most convenient for them.

NA games are being rescheduled for NA prime time obviously. Sadly though us European fans can (for the most part i believe) only watch the first 2 games on Saturdays and Sundays due to the other ones being too late to watch.

This is in no way meant to be a flame or something since Riot obviously wants the home spectators to have the advantage.

I am only pointing out this rather unpleasant fact for us European fans so maybe Riot can find some other kind of solution :)
