Upcoming Event Finder Tool Changes

With the a plethora of time to rework the event finder tool is it possible strictly online riot prized tournaments will ever come back to the NA server? As a player and a host I miss them so dearly, being able to be in a semi-competitive environment with the potential for a reward large or small is what drove me to play league in the first place. Part of the fault of not having much participation of these events was lack of promotion by riot them selves as well as on the communities that hosted them but if you compare a small non for profit community to a multi billion dollar business it's not even close to apples to oranges. So the main question is will strictly online tournaments come back, or what would need to be done to bring them back?

I'm up for encouraging healthy competition outside of LCS in NA.

As a player that is still learning the game I feel like these would be a great opportunity to learn from people that know a lot more about the game then me

I think Riot should prize larger ones, but not smaller ones. A 32 team event is definately more worthy than a 8 team tournament.

Perhaps if Riot was getting a portion of entry fees, they should be offering prize support.

I could see a system where Riot offers a prize pool partial match. Organizer puts RP into the tourny prize pool through the game client, and Riot matches a portion of it.

It is not even a matter of quantity of teams, but of quality.

The issue is that major NA sites, and i'm not even talking about shady ones but serious ones, were exploiting Riot system to exclusively make profit rather than use it to encourage competition

I mean, a prized 32 bronze team tournament here and there is fine and cool to have, but there were organizers that were posting dozens of prized tournaments/week, with only a small fraction of those being reserved for platinum and above

I mean, for the purpose of event tool, an 8 team diamond tournament help to promote more competition below CS level than a 64 team bronze tournament does, speaking frankly

If you really had the time and cared about the sweet RP, you could basically create a middle sized friend community and make an internal agreement where alternatively every team would get its turn to win the tournament and get the prizes

If the issue they have is with shady unorganized tournaments abusing the system, they should take steps to fix that as opposed to just completely eliminating the prizing for online tournaments. I would love to compete in a tournament but where I live there are never any, I'm fairly certain that's the case with relatively large portion of the community.

I mean, every 2nd thread is about how someone Disconnecting from a game lost their promo series for them...

I mean that is a major issue for people and does need to be addressed whether it's on their end or riots but with more then 10 million accounts that play this game it's apparent that it can't all be on riot's fault that these people are dc'ing some of it has to be them some i'm more then sure is riot

Would like this back so I can compete with friends who don't live close to me so Riot's live events would never work for us. Though there were definite understandable issues with the old online tournaments and their prizing but I think it is resolvable with just a little work.

They should meet us with a compromise and at least allow some trusted tournaments like VG to be funded.

Would love to see smaller tournaments since it allows people to learn more because you are gonna be in a team with people. its just great so yeah I'm would love for riot to provide prizing
